Job summary

Vertiv Group Corporation in Pune is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for developing modular enclosure/building CAD concepts and detailed drawings using Autodesk Inventor.

You will generate sheet metal part/assembly designs, installation drawings, BOMs and related documentation while aligning with global standards and coordinating with regional teams across North America, India, EMEA and ANZ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma with 4–6 years' experience.
• Fluent English language.
• Experience with Autodesk Inventor, Creo and Revit; MS Office and PLM software desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop project conceptual and detailed CAD designs.
• Prepare detailed sheet metal part and assembly drawings, BOMs, installation drawings, and fabrication weldment drawings.
• Follow international, national and company standards and good engineering practices.
• Coordinate with North America, India, EMEA or ANZ regions on timelines.
• Provide technical support to subcontractors and site deployment teams.
• Participate in project meetings and FAT/testing documentation.

Business Unit Job Summary:

Developing mechanical design of modular enclosure/buildings (small/medium scale) in Autodesk Inventor and produces project drawings & documentation as mentioned in upper paragraph. The mechanical engineer in design engineering based on inputs works on CAD models for sheet metal parts, design concepts & detail models of parts and assemblies in Autodesk Inventor, participate on engineering meetings with equipment suppliers and develops new skills and knowledge through internal and external education. Mechanical Engineer will be part of team of engineers with a lot of knowledge in various disciplines.

Responsibilities:

• Developing of project conceptual and detailed design in CAD.
• Based on input data (information, requirements, standards), development of mechanical project documentation: detailed sheet metal part & assembly design, Installation drawings, Customer Drawings, fabrication weldment drawings, detail drawings, descriptions, instructions, material submittals, BOM, presentations and marketing materials etc.
• During design, follow and take into consideration international, national and company standards and good engineering practices
• Use knowledge and experience to fulfill requirements given by project tasks
• Participating in regular project team meetings, and on-site coordination meetings if any.
• Reporting project status to Lead Engineer- Mechanical
• Based on Project and priorities he needs to align with North America, India region, EMEA or ANZ region timeline.
• Proactive cooperation with all team members during project execution
• Initiating RFI („Request for Information “) in cases where additional clarification is needed
• Development of defined documents according to Document list (DLIST)
• Verification and approval of workshop supplier documentation developed by subcontractors.
• Specifying Accurate Bill of Material & drawings required for project execution.
• Specification of necessary certificates for materials needed to be ordered
• Supporting suppliers with additional information during bidding phase of sourcing (offer submitting)
• Providing technical approval for received supplier offers
• Providing technical support to subcontractors and installers during production/assembly
• Cooperation with the manufacturing and Site deployment engineering team
• Cooperation with Site Manager during assembly, providing technical solutions to raised issues
• Cooperation with Quality Control during quality control of components/systems and assembly on Site
• Cooperation with the commissioning engineer on testing documentation development
• Participation on internal testing and FAT

Authorities:

• Review and approval of mechanical design documentationwith support of lead mechanical engineer
• Approve or reject technically received supplier offerwith support of lead mechanical engineer
• Approve or reject suggested changes by subcontractor on approved workshop documentationwith support of lead mechanical engineer

Education:

Education – Bachelor of Engineering – Mechanical Engineering (3-5 Years Exp.) (OR Diploma Mechanical Engineering with 4-6 yrs exp.)

• English language – fluent
• Software – Autodesk Inventor, Creo, Revit, MS Office & experience with PLM software is desirable.
