Job summary

FIS in Pune, India, is seeking an experienced backend engineer to design, develop and maintain scalable Python-based applications, APIs, and microservices within the Atlas platform. You'll work with cloud-native Azure services, REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and CI/CD pipelines, contributing to production reliability and performance in a fast-paced enterprise setting.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of backend experience, strong Python skills (FastAPI), and a track record of delivering

• 5+ years of experience developing enterprise-grade backend applications and APIs.
• Strong proficiency in Python and modern backend frameworks such as FastAPI.
• Experience designing and developing REST APIs, microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native development and Azure platform services.
• Strong understanding of databases, data modeling, SQL/NoSQL technologies and backend performance optimization.
• Experience integrating enterprise applications, AI services and external systems through APIs and messaging frameworks.
• Knowledge of asynchronous processing, workflow orchestration and automation platforms.
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated testing and DevOps practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and production support capabilities.
• Experience working within Agile development teams and modern software engineering practices.

What You Bring
