Job summary

ANDREW an Amphenol company is seeking an experienced R&D Process Engineer to develop, validate, and industrialize manufacturing processes for microwave antenna products. You will lead tooling design, DFA/DFM activities, PFMEA, and create robust process documentation to support NPI and production transfer.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics & Communication / Mechanical / Electrical.
  • 7+ years of experience in R&D / Manufacturing Process Engineering.
  • Expertise in manufacturing process development, industrialization, and process validation.
  • Experience in tooling, fixture, and gauge design.
  • Strong knowledge of DFM, DFA, PFMEA, and risk assessment.
  • Proficiency in process documentation (Process Flows, SOPs, Work Instructions, Control Plans).
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Strong project management, cross-functional collaboration, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and validating manufacturing processes for new microwave antenna products from prototype through production readiness.
  • Designing, developing, and implementing manufacturing tooling, fixtures, gauges, and assembly aids to ensure repeatable and efficient production.
  • Leading Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) activities during product development to optimize cost, quality, and manufacturability.
  • Creating and maintaining manufacturing documentation including process flows, work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), control plans, and process specifications.
  • Conducting PFMEA, risk assessments, and process capability studies to identify and mitigate manufacturing risks early in the product development cycle.
  • Defining critical process parameters, acceptance criteria, and validation requirements to ensure robust product performance and quality.
  • Planning and executing prototype, engineering, and pilot builds, incorporating lessons learned into final manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborating with Design Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams to ensure seamless product industrialization.
  • Driving process optimization initiatives focused on yield improvement, cycle time reduction, automation opportunities, and cost-effective manufacturing solutions.
  • Preparing comprehensive process transfer packages and provide technical handover to NPI / Manufacturing Engineering teams for successful production launch.

As an R&D Process Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, validating, and industrializing manufacturing processes for new microwave antenna products. Required Qualifications for Consideration:
