Job summary

ANDREW, an Amphenol company, is seeking a Mechanical Drafter to join the Microwave Systems team in Goa, India. You will lead drafting and documentation releases for MWS R&D design and production support, creating 3D models in SolidWorks and managing data in SAP.

Responsibilities include ensuring GD&T compliance, BOM accuracy, and driving faster release cycles, while mentoring junior drafters and contributing to Power BI dashboards for visibility.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering with 8+ years relevant experience or Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5+ years relevant experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
• Ability to independently interpret, create, and review complex part and assembly drawings.
• Strong understanding of BOM structures, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Experience reviewing drafting work and supporting standardization within a team.
• Exposure to Mechanical Design Simulation tools (SolidWorks Simulation or similar).

Responsibilities

• Lead new-product drawing releases in SAP with high accuracy and process ownership.
• Create 3D CAD models and detailed part/assembly drawings using SolidWorks or similar CAD tools.
• Maintain and update Document Information Records for MWS products in SAP to ensure data accuracy.
• Lead documentation and fast-track project releases focused on quality, speed and standardization.
• Improve CAD standards, drafting templates, and documentation processes to enhance team efficiency and reduce rework.
• Conduct prototype part inspections, support mechanical prototype and participate in First Article Inspections (FAI).
• Lead coordination and review activities ensuring drawings meet GD&T and manufacturability standards, mentor Drafter I/II team members and drive faster documentation cycles.
• Support automation initiatives through Power BI dashboards for tracking, reporting and workflow visibility.
