Job summary

Schneider Electric India in Dadri invites applications for a Site In Charge to lead end-to-end engineering operations across Electrical, HVAC and related infrastructure.

You will monitor HT/LT panels, transformers, UPS, chiller plants and battery banks, plan and execute preventive maintenance, and coordinate with OEMs for online/offline service while ensuring PTW/LOTO safety compliance. You will also supervise technicians and shift engineers and maintain meticulous logs and reports.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/BE/BTech in Electronics or related field.
  • Experience with power distribution, HT/LT panels and transformer maintenance.
  • Knowledge of PM, LOTO and safety compliance.
  • Ability to coordinate with OEMs and external vendors.
  • Supervisory experience of technicians and shift engineers.

  • Responsible for monitoring and operation of HT Panel, Transformers, and Main LT Panels.
  • Check the cleanliness of Transformer yards, RMG Panel and Main Panel room.
  • Carry out the daily checks for Transformers, HT & LT Panels.
  • Record the HT & LT Panel readings and Transformer parameter readings for every 2 hours in the Shift.
  • Check the Fire buckets / Fire extinguishers in the Room, Transformer yards and Panel room are in place.
  • Perform change over operations in the LT Panel during Power failures.
  • Respond to any alarms in the Equipment's immediately.
  • Monitor the Input HT Voltage, Transformer LT Voltage and Transformer tap positions regularly.
  • Carryout preventive maintenance checks for the Equipment's as per the schedule.
  • Coordinate with the external vendor while carrying out routine service in the HT Panels / Transformers /LT Panels.
  • Attending to the issues if any in the Transformers / HT Panels / LT panel immediately with the support.
  • Monitor power distribution in floor wise LT panels
  • Supervise Floor Technicians, Shift Engineers.
  • Plan & coordinate PM for UPS, battery banks, LT & HT panels.
  • Coordinate with OEM for online/oline maintenance.
  • Respond to alarms, faults & emergencies.
  • Conduct shift handover & ensure PTW/LOTO compliance.
  • Monitor UPS, LV switchboards, PDUs, SMDBs.
  • Check battery bank status & load sharing.
  • Supervise load transfer between UPS, generator, mains.
  • Ensure isolation/restoration during PM
  • Maintain logs & updates.
  • Support troubleshooting & safety compliance.
  • Support project activities at Site with feasibility surveys, BOQ preparation and supervision during activity execution.
  • Ensure the proper operation of chiller systems to maintain a comfortable DC environment or meet specific process requirements.
  • The Scope shall be limited to the equipment's on the High side in the Chiller Plant operation areas, (eg: Chillers Cooling Tower, Motors and accessory pumps).
  • Monitor and control chiller plant operations to maintain optimal temperature levels.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for chiller & HVAC systems to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Coordinate and oversee repairs and maintenance work conducted by OEM & respective vendors.
  • Check equipment performance for normal operations. Abnormalities to be brought to the attention of both the Client appointed Site Shift Manager as well as OEM.
  • Reports: - MIS reports, WUE tracking, Water consumption Tracking, Incident Tracking, Equipment history card update
  • To coordinate with HVAC equipment OEM's for ensuring PM, Breakdown & on time submission of service report
  • To manage the site utility infrastructure with zero downtime
  • Evaluate & record CT effectiveness, COC, Chiller efficiency in shifts for controlling the consumption.
  • Adherence to PM schedule
  • Preparation of PM calendar and timely update of activities
  • Closure of observation during PM
  • AMC Management / Tracking PO for AMC
  • Tracking of Purchase Requisition
  • Timely intimation of expiry of AMC
  • Coordination with vendor for PM/BM/ incident closure
  • Conducting vendor review meeting
  • Identification of issue/ concerns proactively and bring them to logical closure
  • Carryout of repairs as required after details analysis, getting quotes, taking approval, follow for release of PO till release of payment
  • Report generation, Daily, Monthly, as per customer requirement and as required from time to time
  • Analysis of logbooks, FSR from vendors and take appropriate action
  • Adherence to processes and SOP’s
