What You’ll Do
- Provide L2/L3 application support for Java-based GBT mid and back office systems
- Monitor system health, performance metrics, and proactively identify potential issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, bugs, and performance bottlenecks
- Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues
- Maintain system documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles
- Monitor applications deployed on AWS ROSA (Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS) and EC2 instances
- Manage and optimize PostgreSQL database performance, queries, and maintenance tasks
- Support microservices architecture and inter-service communication troubleshooting
- Coordinate with development teams for application deployments and releases
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide 24/7 support coverage
- Implement bug fixes and minor enhancements using Java and Spring Boot
- Develop monitoring scripts, automation tools, and support utilities
- Collaborate with development teams on system improvements and optimization
- Support testing activities and validate fixes in various environments
- Assist in capacity planning and performance tuning initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in technology with minimum 5 years of experience in Java application support or development
- Strong proficiency in Java 8+ and understanding of JVM internals
- Solid experience with Spring Boot framework and Spring ecosystem
- Hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL administration, query optimization, and troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of AWS cloud services, particularly EC2 and ROSA (Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS)
- Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems troubleshooting
- Proven experience in application support, production incident management, and system monitoring
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail
- Experience with log analysis and debugging techniques
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix systems administration
- Experience in travel industry or TMC operations support and familiarity with additional AWS services (CloudWatch, RDS, Lambda, S3)
- Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Splunk) and knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift)
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes and experience with message queuing systems (RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka)
- ITIL framework knowledge and incident management processes and scripting skills (Shell, Python, or similar)
- Java 8+, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, PostgreSQL, Redis, RESTful APIs, AWS ROSA, EC2, Docker, OpenShift, Monitoring – CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Version Control: Git, GitLab/GitHub, Build Tools: Maven, Gradle
- Strong communication skills for incident coordination and stakeholder updates and ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Customer service mindset with focus on business impact and collaborative approach to working with cross‑functional teams
- Continuous learning attitude and adaptability to new technologies and strong documentation and knowledge sharing practices
Work Schedule
Must be willing and able to work in 2nd shifts (3:00PMIST to 12:00AMIST) and occasional weekends as required. Must be willing to work from Bangalore office location minimum 3 days in a week. The candidate must be willing to work in App Support project.
