Vertiv in Pune, India seeks an Engineer - DVT tester to ensure quality and reliability of communication card firmware. You will work within the firmware team to validate features, perform regression tests and support test automation for hardware and software integration.

The role requires 2-4 years in software DVT testing, strong Python automation skills, Linux proficiency and experience with networking protocols. Opportunities include collaboration with US teams and growth in test engineering.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics / Computers / IT or equivalent
• 2-4 years of relevant experience in software DVT testing
• Experience with Python for test automation preferred
• Experience with Linux and networking protocols (TCP/IP)
• Familiarity with testing tools and defect tracking systems
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and virtualization (Kubernetes) a plus

Job Description for Engineer - DVT tester

Job Description:

Work with a US-based team to expand device communication capabilities. The Firmware Test Engineer will be embedded within the firmware development team and responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability and performance of Vertiv’s communication card products through comprehensive firmware testing—primarily black-box, with clear-box (white-box) testing as needed—and DVT (Design Verification Testing) validation. The role will work directly with hardware and product management teams to validate new features, conduct regression testing, support test automation and improve product quality.

Key Responsibilities

Firmware Validation & Testing

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases and test scenarios forcommunication card productsfirmware releases.
• Perform functional, integrationand acceptance testing, primarily from a black-box perspective and applying clear-box (white-box) techniques when diagnosing defects alongside developers.
• Validate new feature implementations, enhancements and bug fixes.
• Verify firmware functionality across supported hardware platforms and configurations.

DVT (Design Verification Testing)

• Execute Design Verification Testing (DVT) for new hardware and firmware releases.
• Validate firmware interaction with hardware components, sensors, communication interfaces and peripherals.
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks such as Pytest or Robot Framework
• Perform performance and reliability testing.
• Identify, reproduce and document defects found during DVT cycles.
• Support hardware bring-up and pre-production validation activities.

Defect Management

• Log, track, reproduce and verify software defects.
• Collaborate with firmware developers to analyze root causes and validate fixes.
• Participate in defect triage and release readiness reviews.
• Ensure timely closure of critical and high-priority issues.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Generate test reports, release summaries and quality metrics.
• Review product requirements and provide testability feedback.
• Leverage AI-assisted testing tools to improve productivity and test coverage.

Job Specifications:

• Bachelors Engineering degree in Electronics / Computers / IT
• 2-4 Year’s relevant experience of software DVT Testing
• Experience in development with Python, primarily for test automation, is preferred
• Experience with at least one of the following communication protocols: SNMP, Modbus, BACnet, HTTPS, REST APIs, Redfish
• Experience with Linux operating systems is required
• TCP/IP or networking protocol experience is a plus
• Experience with a revision control system such as git is a plus
• Hands on experience with any one of the defect tracking tools: Rally, JIRA, Gitlab and Bugzilla
• Experience in Testing process, Test Setup, Issue analysis, Test design is a plus
• Experience with containerization and virtualization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, is a plus.
• Experience with API Testing is a plus
• Wireshark experience is a plus
• Firmware engineering experience is a plus
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in team environment
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English is a must
