Job Description

Role Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineer I – Design to join the Electrical Engineering team in an entry-level design and development role. The position will involve supporting electrical and electronic system design, prototype development, testing, validation, troubleshooting, and technical documentation for high-reliability products. The ideal candidate should possess strong fundamentals in electrical/electronics engineering, hands-on exposure through academic projects or internships, and a strong aptitude for learning, problem-solving, and working in a structured engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities Support electrical and electronic design and development activities under the guidance of senior engineers. Assist in component selection, technical evaluation, BOM preparation, and identification of alternate/indigenous components for imported, obsolete, or end-of-life parts. Develop and maintain electrical/electronic schematics using SolidWorks or equivalent tools. Support PCB design and layout activities using Altium, OrCAD, KiCad, or equivalent EDA tools. Assist in prototype assembly, board bring-up, soldering, desoldering, and rework of through-hole and SMD components. Conduct bench-level testing and debugging using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, function generators, and programmable power supplies. Record, analyse, interpret, and document test results and prepare technical test reports. Support environmental, qualification, acceptance, and EMI/EMC testing, including test setup, execution, troubleshooting, and data capture. Assist in root-cause analysis and corrective action for design, testing, and field-return failures. Support investigation and analysis of field failures and returned units, as required. Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including schematics, BOMs, MDI, QTP, ATP, FTP, test reports, and engineering change documentation. Participate in design reviews and incorporate technical feedback from senior engineers. Ensure compliance with applicable quality, safety, configuration-control, and engineering processes. Progressively take ownership of assigned engineering activities and work packages.

Required Skills & Experience Strong fundamentals in analog, digital, and power electronics, or core Electrical Engineering concepts such as electromagnetism, induction, magnetic circuits, and transformers. Basic understanding of electrical/electronic circuit design, testing, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with Altium, OrCAD, KiCad, or equivalent EDA tools for schematic capture and PCB layout. Hands-on familiarity with laboratory instruments such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, function generators, and programmable power supplies. Basic soldering, PCB assembly, component replacement, and rework skills. Ability to read and interpret component datasheets, circuit diagrams, technical specifications, and application notes. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Good written and verbal communication skills in English. Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to technical documentation. Ability and willingness to learn new engineering tools, technologies, standards, and processes. 0–2 years of relevant experience; fresh graduates with strong fundamentals and hands‑on project/internship exposure are encouraged to apply. Qualification B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, or a relevant engineering discipline. Fresh graduates with strong academic fundamentals and demonstrable hands‑on experience through projects, internships, laboratory work, or relevant technical activities are encouraged to apply.
