Job summary

SYSTRA India CTR and MEP teams seek an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead MEP design and coordination for metro rail projects. You will collaborate with global teams and ensure deliverables meet safety, quality, and international standards.

The role emphasizes on-site execution in Delhi with exposure to diverse, cross-border projects and sustainability compliance in complex urban infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 4 years’ relevant experience in MEP design and coordination for large-scale metro rail / infrastructure projects.
• Track record of successful MEP design delivery on international projects (UK, Europe, Middle East preferred).
• Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
• Ability to work within a culturally diverse organization, recognizing and respecting differences.
• Self-motivated with leadership skills and ability to influence without authority.
• Working experience in Metro rail design and proficiency with MEP tools.

Responsibilities

• Understand the project, client requirements, schedule and budgets.
• Originate mechanical design complying with national and local codes, LEED, etc.
• Sustainability implementation and regulatory adherence.
• Collaborate with global multi-disciplinary teams for MEP interfaces.
• Ensure MEP deliverables follow SYSTRA policies and ISO standards.
• Maintain documentation for design coordination activities.
• Identify and resolve design issues during design and construction phases.
• Liaise with specialist teams to ensure design delivery aligns with engineering best practices.

CTR – Regional Technical Centre of Systra India takes care of the international production of major projects at Systra Group level. CTR team has expertise in design of High-Speed Rail, Metro, Conventional Rail, Bridges, Highways, Depots, Stations and Transport Planning. Starting from Feasibility/Concept stage to Detailed Design to IFC/Shop drawings, the disciplines involved have experience of designing in accordance with various international codes and delivered projects across the world.

CTR team has successfully delivered some major projects in UK, UAE, Tanzania, KSA, Australia, Canada and Denmark. One of the major achievements of India CTR team has been the design of HS2 project in UK. We played an instrumental role in delivering 3 major Sublots on HS2 with our teams proactively engaging with Front Office in UK and delivering beyond client expectations. This resulted in India team receiving many accolades from the contractor BBV and client HS2.

CTR team in India is proficient in working on multi-disciplinary projects integrating Design, BIM and Drawing production in a seamless workflow incorporating different software. The technical and management teams within CTR get an opportunity to work and interact with other CTR teams within Systra Group from Paris, Poland, Dubai, Philippines and Brazil.

Missions/Main Duties

• Understanding the project, Client requirements, Schedule and Budgets.
• Originate Mechanical design complying with national and local applicable codes (IS, BS, ASHRAE, NR), LEED rating,
• Sustainability implementation, Authority regulations, project standards, safety regulations, specific metro/rail standards, and client requirements
• Collaborate with global multi-disciplinary teams, acting as the focal point for MEP design interfaces.
• Ensure MEP deliverables adhere to SYSTRA policies, quality management systems, safety practices, design and project processes and ISO certifications
• Maintain accurate documentation and records for all design coordination activities.
• Identify and resolve technical issues or design conflicts that arise during the design and construction phases.
• Through the lifecycle of a design project, you will liaise with specialist engineering teams to ensure that the design work is delivered in accordance with the engineering best practice and in compliance with mandated standards.

Profile/Skills

• Track record of successful MEP design delivery on international projects (UK, Europe, Middle East preferred).
