Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communications.
  • Experience in automotive electronic product design.
  • Schematic design, PCB development, hardware validation.
  • Familiarity with CAN, LIN, I2C, SPI protocols.
  • Knowledge of EMC/EMI considerations and troubleshooting.
  • Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop automotive hardware solutions including wireless charging concepts.
  • Collaborate with global teams to translate customer needs into robust designs.
  • Lead hardware development from concept through validation and production release.
  • Perform analyses, simulations, and risk assessments to enhance reliability.
  • Support design reviews and ensure compliance with automotive standards.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, QA, and suppliers for launches.
  • Assist with field validation and on-vehicle integration.

Molex is seeking a talented Hardware Design Engineer to join our Connected Mobility Solutions (CMS) engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to the development of next-generation automotive electronics and wireless charging solutions that power connected and autonomous vehicles. You will collaborate with global cross-functional teams to design innovative, high-quality products from concept through production, ensuring they meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and industry-leading performance standards.

What You Will Do
  • Design and develop automotive electronic hardware solutions, including wireless charging systems and related technologies.
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams to transform customer requirements into innovative product designs.
  • Drive hardware development activities from concept, architecture, and prototyping through validation and production release.
  • Apply engineering analysis, simulation, and risk assessment techniques to improve product performance and reliability.
  • Lead technical discussions and design reviews while providing guidance on design best practices.
  • Partner with manufacturing, quality, mechanical, and supplier teams to ensure seamless product development and launch.
  • Support customer-facing engineering activities, including validation testing and on-vehicle integration efforts.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, cost effectiveness, and development efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with automotive standards, customer specifications, and Molex quality management systems.
  • Champion innovative solutions that create long-term value for customers and the business.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in automotive electronic product design and development.
  • Experience with schematic design, PCB development, and hardware validation of electronic systems.
  • Working knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, I2C, and SPI.
  • Experience using electronic design tools such as Altium Designer or equivalent CAD platforms.
  • Knowledge of EMC/EMI design considerations and hardware troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience collaborating within cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience developing wireless charging or wireless power transfer solutions.
  • Knowledge of inductive coil design and wireless power system architectures.
  • Experience conducting circuit simulations, Worst Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA), and DFMEA activities.
  • Familiarity with automotive product development processes, validation methodologies, and customer design reviews.
  • Experience supporting board bring-up, prototype development, and vehicle-level testing.
  • Understanding of design for manufacturability, cost optimization, and quality-driven engineering practices.
  • Exposure to Six Sigma, ISO standards, APQP, or automotive quality management systems.
