Job summary

Molex India Business Services, Bengaluru, is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer to drive development of DSS Enterprise products. You will contribute to from concept through detailed design, using 3D modeling, 2D drafting, tolerance analysis, and DFMEA input.

Expect collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and marketing to meet customer specs and internal standards. You will join a team owning product design across datacom and specialty solutions, interacting with global teams to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical or equivalent.
• 3–5 years design experience of electromechanical products – components and assemblies.
• Proficient in designing plastic, stamping, sheet metal & machined components.
• Proficient with Siemens NX to generate 3D models & 2D drafting.
• Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Strong English verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support design, development, and modification of products within DSS BUs that meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Design includes 3D Modeling, 2D Drawings, design layouts, engineering changes, technical documents, tolerance analysis, product testing, etc.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to develop manufacturing processes using 3D CAD and DFM tools.
• Provide technical support to customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Work globally with teams to bring products to production.
• Check drawings for completeness and accuracy.
• Contribute to Molex Total Quality Management, Six Sigma, ISO, EH&S policies.

Job description

Responsible for the design and development of DSS (Datacom & Specialty Solutions) Enterprise products. Independently executes the project and delivers to the stakeholders. Manages new product development & modifications through the complete implementation process to develop product that meet or exceed product performance per internal Molex standards, industry standards or customer specifications. Good Interaction with Engineering, Manufacturing, Electrical engineering, AQP and marketing team.

Our Team

The Copper Solutions Business Unit team at the Global Technical Center in Bengaluru has engineering ownership across several Connector Product Lines, provides Product Design and Validation Services, designs and develops Mold & Die Tooling, Gage & Fixture, Product Testing Systems and Application Tooling services to customers and stakeholders in Datacom and Specialty Solutions Division located across the globe. The Division primarily provides products and solutions that go into Datacenter and related infrastructure that powers cloud computing, artificial intelligence, etc. The position will be part of this engineering team at Molex India Business Services, Bengaluru.

What You Will Do

• Support design, development, and modification of products within DSS BUs that meet or exceed customer expectations. Design includes all aspects of product development such as 3D Modeling, 2D Drawings, design layouts, engineering changes, technical documents, tolerance analysis, product testing, etc. Utilizes a working knowledge of material costs and manufacturing processes to determine the impact on various design attributes. Provides input to the DFMEA analysis of the product as required.
• Works with manufacturing engineering to develop manufacturing processes utilizing the latest 3D CAD modeling techniques and other DFM tools
• Provides technical support to customers, suppliers, and inside product marketing personnel
• Work globally with teams to bring products to production.
• Checks engineering, manufacturing and sales drawings for completeness and accuracy.
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written, that demonstrate the ability to express complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
• Understand, support and contribute to current Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures
• Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical
• 3-5 years design experience of electromechanical products – components and assemblies
• Should possess good knowledge in designing plastic, Stamping, sheet metal & machined components.
• Proficient in using Siemens NX to generate 3D models & 2D drafting
• Working Knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis
• Analytical ability to apply logical reasoning, test assumptions, observe results and make corrections
• Strong English verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to express complex technical concepts clearly and concisely
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Power Point
• Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with others and in a team.
• Travel will be required as necessary

What Will Put You Ahead

• Master’s/Additional qualification in Design/Manufacturing/Tool & Die engineering from NTTF, CIPET or similar institutes
• Material and manufacturing knowledge of plastic, Stamping, sheet metal & machined components.
• Proficient in Siemens NX 11 and PLM/PDM
• Knowledge or Hands on experience on domains like Product Design, Mold Design, Press tool Design, Automation Design.
