Job summary

Molex is seeking a dynamic Senior CAD Engineer – Design to join our Industrial Solutions Engineering team in Bengaluru. You will lead CAD design and drafting for connectors, cables, and industrial networking products, create 3D models and drawings, and drive engineering change management with ECRs and design packages.

You will collaborate with global cross-functional teams, apply GD&T and tolerance analysis, mentor junior engineers, support PLM tools like Teamcenter and Polarion, and contribute

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5–7 years in product development, sustaining engineering, or ECRs in connectors/industrial products.
  • Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD, preferably Siemens NX.
  • Strong GD&T knowledge and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Experience with cross-functional/global engineering teams.
  • Understanding of DFMEA and engineering change processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Your Job

Molex is seeking a dynamic Senior CAD Engineer – Design to join our Industrial Solutions Engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and sustaining of high-performance connector solutions for industrial applications. You will leverage your expertise in CAD design, product development, and engineering change management while collaborating with global cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and reliable products that create value for customers around the world.

You will be part of the Industrial Solutions Engineering Team, responsible for designing and developing connectors for high-power industrial applications. Our team works closely with global engineering, manufacturing, quality, product management, and customer-facing teams to bring innovative products to market while continuously improving existing solutions. What You Will Do


  • Lead CAD design and drafting efforts for new product development and sustaining engineering projects involving connectors, cable assemblies, and industrial networking products.

  • Create and release high-quality 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and product documentation in compliance with Molex engineering standards.

  • Drive engineering change management activities, including preparation and execution of Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and design change packages.

  • Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to resolve product, manufacturing, and customer-related challenges through effective technical problem-solving.

  • Apply advanced GD&T principles and tolerance analysis to ensure robust, manufacturable, and cost-effective product designs.

  • Support product lifecycle activities by driving continuous improvement initiatives and sustaining released products.

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers on CAD best practices, drawing standards, and engineering design methodologies.

  • Partner with manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and customers to ensure products meet performance, quality, and reliability expectations.

  • Contribute to root cause investigations and corrective action implementation for product and process-related issues.

  • Support validation, measurement analysis, and product disposition activities to maintain product integrity and customer satisfaction.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

  • 5–7 years of experience in product development, sustaining engineering, or engineering change management within connectors, wiring harnesses, automotive, or industrial products.

  • Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and detailing, preferably using Siemens NX (UG NX).

  • Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance interpretation, and basic tolerance stack-up analysis.

  • Experience working within cross-functional and global engineering teams.

  • Solid understanding of product development processes, DFMEA, and engineering change management.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.


What Will Put You Ahead


  • Experience designing components involving plastics, sheet metal, castings, and plated parts.

  • Experience supporting industrial communication, industrial automation, or automotive products.

  • Hands-on experience with Teamcenter and/or Polarion PLM systems.

  • Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership on design projects.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability (DFM) principles.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, MS Project, and Visio.

  • Experience supporting global manufacturing operations and product sustaining activities.
