Job summary

Egis Road Operation India in Bengaluru, India seeks a detail‑oriented Drainage Engineer to design, develop, and implement drainage systems for complex infrastructure projects. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective water management and regulatory compliance.

The role requires 3–7 years of drainage or civil engineering experience, strong AutoCAD skills, and knowledge of hydraulic analysis (HEC‑RAS) and hydrological modelling.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of professional experience in drainage/civil engineering or related roles.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD) and drainage design tools.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic analysis and hydrological modelling software (HEC-RAS; STAAD Pro).
• Experience with GIS for site analysis and mapping; familiar with Indian building codes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop drainage systems, including stormwater and wastewater infrastructure, using industry-standard methodologies.
• Conduct site surveys, hydrological assessments, and feasibility studies to determine optimal drainage solutions.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and design docs using CAD and modelling tools.
• Analyse hydraulic data to ensure system efficiency and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee construction, installation, and commissioning of drainage projects with adherence to timelines.
• Monitor system performance and identify optimisation opportunities.
• Collaborate with architects, civil/environmental engineers, and PMs to integrate drainage into larger projects.
• Ensure designs comply with local codes and environmental regulations.
• Prepare reports, cost estimates, and project documentation for stakeholders.

About The Role

We’re looking for a detail‑oriented and analytical Engineer – Drainage to join our organization in Bengaluru, India. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive drainage systems and infrastructure solutions. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient water management and compliance with all regulatory standards. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, organised project management capabilities, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality engineering solutions.

• Design and develop drainage systems, including stormwater and wastewater management infrastructure, using industry-standard methodologies
• Conduct detailed site surveys, hydrological assessments, and feasibility studies to determine optimal drainage solutions
• Prepare comprehensive technical drawings, specifications, and design documentation using CAD software and modeling tools
• Analyze hydraulic and hydrological data to ensure system efficiency and compliance with environmental regulations
• Oversee construction, installation, and implementation of drainage projects, ensuring adherence to design specifications and timelines
• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for optimisation and maintenance improvements
• Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, environmental specialists, and project managers to integrate drainage solutions into larger infrastructure projects
• Ensure all designs and implementations comply with local building codes, municipal regulations, and industry standards
• Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and project documentation for stakeholder review and approval
• Participate in site inspections and troubleshoot drainage-related issues to maintain system functionality

What do we need from you

• 3-7 years of professional experience in drainage engineering, civil engineering, or related infrastructure design roles
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD) and drainage design tools
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic analysis and hydrological modelling software (HEC-RAS, STAAD Pro)
• Experience with GIS software for site analysis and mapping
• Solid understanding of stormwater management and wastewater drainage systems
• Knowledge of urban planning standards and municipal drainage requirements
• Excellent technical documentation and report writing skills
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail
• Proficiency in project management and ability to coordinate multiple tasks efficiently
• Familiarity with relevant Indian building codes and environmental regulations
• Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) registration or equivalent certification
• Preferred: Experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) software
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively in team environments
