Principal Engineer- Wet Utilities

Job summary

Egis, a global engineering leader, is seeking a Principal Engineer in our Infrastructure Team in Bengaluru to deliver complex wet utilities projects including potable water, sewer and stormwater systems, and district cooling. You will lead design efforts, mentor junior engineers and ensure quality with rigorous reviews.

You will perform hydrological and hydraulic modelling, prepare detailed specifications and drawings, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in Wet Utilities.
• Experience in design of Wet Utilities including Potable Water, Sewer, Storm, Irrigation, District cooling, and Firefighting.
• Working knowledge of relevant software packages like HEC HMS, HEC RAS, EPANET, WaterCAD, InfoWorks, SewerCAD, StormCAD, SWMM.
• Experience and familiarity with the following programs are a plus: ArcGIS, MicroStation, MicroDrainage, HAMMER.
• Prepare design using Civil 3D software for BIM environment.
• Knowledge of clash resolution of utilities modelling software like Navisworks, Bentley Navigator, Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and lead large‑scale projects.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Prepare and review detailed technical specifications, drawings, and documentation.
• Prepare reports calculations and design documentation
• Conduct technical and quality reviews of projects, identifying and addressing potential issues to ensure high‑quality deliverables.
• Develop and assess surface water drainage systems to ensure efficient stormwater management and adherence to local regulations.
• Conduct hydrological and hydraulic modeling to inform design decisions and evaluate the impacts of drainage systems.
