Job summary

Metso in Alwar (Rajasthan) seeks a Design Engineer for slurry pumps, from concept to launch, coordinating with operations, services, and marketing to ensure product success.

You will determine specifications, apply machine design concepts, create drawings, and perform strength calculations while working with 3D CAD tools and possibly 3D printing. The role emphasizes teamwork and initiative.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering with focus towards Design Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering and design.

Responsibilities

• Research and determine specifications for products including materials, measurements and structures.
• Use analytical approaches and hand calculations to solve problems.
• Apply design concepts with knowledge of machine design.
• Create manufacturing drawings based on standard designs and calculations.
• Assist with proto assembly issues or misfabricated parts.
• Perform basic strength evaluations/calculations.
• Have basic knowledge of 3D printing.
• Conduct documented product safety reviews as part of daily design process.
• Develop new solutions independently and in project teams.
• Maintain order and efficiency in work.
• Participate as team member and sometimes leader in slurry pumps development projects.
• Perform other duties and special projects as required.

Introduction:

• Design Engineer, work primarily with slurry pumps designs who can develop products from concept to launch and coordinates with departments such as operations, services, and marketing to ensure product's success.

Job Location -Alwar (Rajasthan)

What you’ll do:

• Research and determine specifications for products including the right materials, measurements, and structures.
• Should use analytical approach to solve a problem and know hand calculations.
• Apply design concepts with depth knowledge of machine design.
• Creates manufacturing drawings, based on standard designs and calculations.
• Assisting with problems regarding proto assembly or parts incorrectly fabricated etc.
• Performs basic strength evaluations/calculations.
• Should know basics of 3D printing.
• Perform documented product safety review as a part of the daily design process
• Develops new solutions independently and in project teams.
• Maintains good order and efficiency in his/her work.
• Participates as team member and sometimes a leader in development project for slurry pumps
• Performs other miscellaneous duties and/or other special projects as required.

Who you are:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering with relevant focus area towards Design Engineering, or 3 – 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering and design.
• Experience in use of 3D CAD modelling tools and Inventor is considered an advantage.
• Experience of centrifugal pumps, castings, welded design, rubber parts is a plus.
• Positive and solution oriented interaction skills with counterparts as required.
• Efficient end results oriented approach.
• Works well in teams as well as an individual contributor.
• Ability to complete assigned tasks in the time given with own responsibility to plan and prioritize.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
