Job summary

Lennox India Technology Centre in Chennai is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design refrigeration systems for HVAC&R products. You will perform cycle calculations, select components, and create 3D models and BOMs using CAD tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Thermal Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in refrigeration system design, HVAC, or thermal product development.
• Strong understanding of Refrigeration Cycles, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, Psychrometrics.
• Experience in refrigeration component selection and system optimization.
• Knowledge of refrigerants, compressors, evaporators, condensers, and expansion devices.
• Ability to perform engineering calculations and design documentation.

• Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ASHRAE, AHRI, UL, ISO, and environmental regulations.
• Participate in new product development, value engineering, and cost reduction projects.

• Knowledge of DOE, DFMEA, GD&T, and Design Validation processes.
• Experience working on HVAC, Commercial Refrigeration, Heat Pumps, Rooftop Units, Chillers, or Industrial Cooling Products.
• Understanding of energy efficiency standards and sustainability initiatives.
