Job summary

Flex in Chennai is seeking an Engineer- Component Engineering to support design and manufacturing activities. You will manage component data, maintain vendor lists, and ensure EOL/PCN communications across teams.

The role requires a Bachelor's in EEE/ECE/Mech/E&Tc with 4–7 years in automotive/EMS/electronics manufacturing, strong technical communication, and familiarity with CAD tools like OrCAD, CIS, or Allegro.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years’ experience in Automotive/EMS/Electronics Manufacturing.
• Familiar with circuit design principles and board layout guidelines.
• Knowledge of electronic components.

Responsibilities

• Support design/manufacturing site for product, part, drawings, and related processes.
• Maintain datasheets, processes, policies, drawings, changes, reports, specifications, and documentation.
• Enter and maintain component data and vendor lists in global component database.
• Create a component database for Electrical/Electronic & Indirect materials.
• Quality review of component parameter attributes from datasheets.
• Validate MPN and provide alternates.
• Monitor component EOL and manage obsolescence.
• Collaborate on cross-functional product component changes.

Job description

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, were looking to add an Engineer- Component Engineering in Chennai.

What a typical day looks like:

• Responsible to support different design/Manufacturing site for Product, Part, drawing and other design related process.
• Maintenance of various business-related documents including datasheets, functional processes, policies, engineering drawings, engineering changes, project reports, specifications, product proposals and product / Part documentation
• Enter and maintain component data and manufacturer information & approved vendor lists in global component database.
• Create a component database for all the Electrical/Electronic & Indirect materials Quality review of the component parameter attributes from datasheets.
• Validate MPN and provide alternates
• Monitor Component EOL and manage the component obsolescence Part of a cross-functional team in implementing product component changes within the company

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Bachelor’s degree in EEE / ECE / Mech / E&TC
• 4 to 7 years’ experience in Automotive Industry /EMS / Electronics Products Manufacturing Industry.
• Good organization and technical communication skills to effectively monitor and convey component end-of-life (EOL) notifications and part change notifications (PCN’s) to Purchasing and Engineering
• Familiar with circuit design principles and board layout guidelines, identifying alternate parts and manufacturers.
• Knowledge of any design softwares software like OrCAD, CIS, Allegro desirable
• Knowledge on electronic components
• Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
