Job summary

Hero MotoCorp in Jaipur invites an Engineer - Chassis Design - Structure to visualize and develop feasible chassis concepts in 3D/2D, ensuring weight, cost, quality and performance targets are met.

You will coordinate with vendors, support DFMEA & HEG docs, and drive design manuals, pilot production trials and interface with adjacent systems.

BE/BTech in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering and Catia V5 proficiency are required, with strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• BE/ BTech in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering from a reputed institute.
• Strong knowledge of chassis design concepts and interfacing with adjacent systems.
• Experience with design documentation, DFMEA and GD&T practices.

Responsibilities

• Suggest VA/VE ideas to reduce material cost.
• Chassis systems layout & design of all parts and layout finalization.
• Engage in concept visualization and 3D/2D best practices.
• Prepare design manuals (HEG), packaging study reports, and document learnings.
• Part validation for fitment and pilot production trials for mass production.

Engineer - Chassis Design - Structure

A purpose driven role for you

The Engineer (Chassis Design) is responsible for visualizing and generating feasible design concepts in 3D/2D, considering weight, cost, quality & performance target with the ultimate goal of delivering excelling vehicles to our customers. The Engineer is responsible for doing the design and layout study of Chassis Structures Systems and ensures proper interfacing with adjoining systems. The Engineer also needs to maintain tolerances stack resulting in gaps/flush variation on vehicle. The engineer coordinates with vendors for delivery of parts as per quality, cost and time targets for new models and multi-sourcing of existing parts. The engineer supports the Skill Team Lead in report making from benchmarking studies, vehicle build events and carries out any problem resolution activities along with timely update of DFMEA & HEG documents.

A Day in the life

• Suggest VA/VE ideas to reduce the product material cost.
• Chassis systems layout & design of all parts and layout finalization.
• Engage in concept visualization and 3D/2D best practices
• Preparing design manuals(HEG), Packaging study reports, documenting learning from projects.
• Part validation for fitment and conduction of Pilot Production trials for mass production of new models.

Academic Qualification & Experience

BE/ BTech/ in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering from renowned Institute

Technical Skills/Knowledge

• Knowledge of advance surfacing, 3D modelling and 2D drawing in Catia V5/ Any CAD tool.
• Good understanding of DFM, DFA, DFMEA and GD&T.
• Knowledge of required manufacturing process in Chassis parts design.
• Exposure to Sheet metal / casting analysis software
• Good understanding of FEA analysis for Chassis system parts
• Experienced in handling suppliers and internal/external customers
• Problem solving, analytical skills
