Job summary

Talent Hired-the Job Store in Chennai seeks an experienced embedded software engineer to develop, integrate and validate Battery Management System software for lithium‑ion packs. You will use model‑based development and automotive software processes, reporting to the Lead Application Software (BMS).

Total experience should cover embedded software with BMS/VCU/EV powertrain exposure. You will implement features, perform MIL/SIL/HIL tests, ensure traceability and support vehicle‑level validation.

Qualifications

• Experience in embedded software for BMS/EV powertrain systems.
• Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink and Stateflow modelling.
• Experience with CAN communication protocols and automotive software.
• Hands-on testing: MIL, SIL and HIL methodologies.
• Knowledge of BMS/VCU or EV powertrain software development.

Responsibilities

• Develop BMS application software features using MATLAB/Simulink and Stateflow.
• Implement and maintain software components per system requirements; support integration and testing.
• Develop SOX estimation, cell balancing, thermal monitoring, voltage/current/temperature control and fault detection.
• Analyze requirements; create software design documentation and ensure bidirectional traceability.
• Perform MIL, SIL and HIL testing; debug and support vehicle-level validation.
• Conform to automotive software processes, coding standards and Polyspace guidelines.
• Participate in design reviews and software audits.

Position Summary

Develop, integrate and validate Battery Management System application software functions for lithium-ion battery packs, using model-based development and automotive software processes. The role reports to the Lead Application Software (BMS).

Total experience framing: embedded software development, with a portion in BMS, VCU, EV powertrain or automotive application software.
