Job summary

ARAI in Pune seeks an Engineer (Vehicle Dynamics Simulation) for the Engineering Design & Simulation (EDS) Department. The candidate will use ADAMS for vehicle dynamics; perform suspension Kinematics & Compliance analysis, and derive improvements.

Collaboration with validation teams is essential to ensure virtual results align with real-world testing. Minimum 2.5–4 years in MBD simulations with a PG in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering is required.

Qualifications

• Post Graduate Degree in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering with 2.5–4 years of experience in Multi-Body Dynamics (MBD) simulation.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle dynamics virtual simulations using MBD tools (ADAMS).
• Conduct suspension KnC analysis and suggest improvements.
• Extract loads on chassis and suspension components.
• Perform inertial load and dynamic analyses on suspension.
• Run ride and handling simulations and ISO handling tests.
• Carry out four poster analysis and DoE for performance improvement.
• Coordinate with validation and testing teams to align virtual and real-world results.
• Analyze mechanical system behavior using ADAMS View / ADAMS Machinery modules.
• Develop, test, and validate dynamic models of complex systems.

Job Description

Vehicle simulation

• Perform vehicle dynamics virtual simulations using multi-body dynamics (MBD) tool viz. ADAMS
• Perform suspension Kinematics & Compliance (KnC) analysis and provide suggestions for improvements
• Extract loads on chassis and suspension components
• Perform Inertial load and various dynamic analysis on suspension
• Perform Ride and handling simulation which involves handling crg files, F-Tire Model alongwith performing ISO handling tests
• Perform four poster analysis and correlation
• Perform DoE for performance improvement
• Work closely with validation, testing teams to ensure alignment between virtual simulations & real-world testing activities

Mechanism Simulation

• Analyze the behavior of mechanical systems, including automotive/non-automotive components, machinery and suspension systems using ADAMS View / ADAMS Machinery modules
• Develop, test, and validate dynamic models of complex mechanical systems, including modeling kinematics, dynamics, and vibrations.
• Conduct system-level analysis, including load analysis, motion analysis, and component interactions, to improve system performance.
• Analyze simulation results, identify potential improvements, and provide recommendations to enhance product design, performance.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to clients and stakeholders.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in ADAMS Car, ADAMS View, ADAMS Insight, Motion View/ Solve for multi-body dynamics simulations.
• Proficient in building templates, Leaf Spring model in ADAMS, MNF FILE, using PID controllers during full vehicle simulations
• Strong understanding of mechanical system dynamics, kinematics, Passenger and Commercial Vehicles systems, suspension systems, Vehicle dynamics, Finite Element Analysis.
• Solid understanding of MBD, Vehicle dynamics, vibrations principles
• Familiarity with Finite Element model building using Hypermesh, MSC NASTRAN, exposure on Strength and Durability simulation is an added advantage.
• Exposure to testing, test data understanding, tracks are an added advantage
• Hand on experience on Motion View is added advantage
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong analytical mindset.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Active participation in events like SAE BAJA, SUPRA is an added advantage
