Job summary

Deccan Fine Chemicals seeks an on-site safety-focused professional to manage basic permit safety requirements, monitor area hazards, and coordinate approvals for projects. You will inspect equipment, verify drawings and bills, and supervise contract workers to ensure safe execution of commissioning activities.

Strong knowledge of PPE, fire and electrical safety, and contaminated prevention policy is essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Ensure basic safety requirements of permits (PPE, guarding, fire, electrical).
• Monitor safety within work areas and elevate hazards.
• Coordinate safety requirements of permits and seek approvals.
• Identify hazards during permit approvals and critical project works.
• Inspect received equipment with EPIR where applicable.
• Ensure equipment specs align with approved drawings.
• Verify related bills and contractor compliance.
• Supervise contract workers and safety practices.
• Oversee equipment commissioning and permit issuance for projects.
• Ensure piping system components meet gasket, bolt, earth bond, and guard specs.
• Follow company safety norms and policy.
• Adhere to Quality Policy and contamination prevention rules.
• Maintain good housekeeping in the work area.
• Maintain awareness of TFS requirements.

Job description

Responsibility:

• 1. Ensure basic safety [PPE adherence, Machine guarding, Fire safety, Electrical Safety, etc.] requirements of various work permits
• 2. Monitor safety requirements within work area to identify and elevate potential hazards.
• 3. Coordinate basic safety requirements of various work permits and seeks approval prior to work.
• 4. Identify potential hazards and critical project works during Permit approval process
• 5. Inspects received equipment with EPIR.
• 6. Ensure the equipment specifications as per approved drawings
• 7. Verification of related bills.
• 8. Follows the contract workers.
• 9. Responsible for equipment commissioning activities and responsible to raise work permits to execute the project.
• 10. Ensure the fixed pipe lines are fitted with suitable gaskets, size & length of bolts, earth bonds, pipe supports and flange guards for hazardous lines.
• 11. To follow safety norms and adhere with company policy.
• 12. To follow the Quality Policy & Contamination prevention policy of the company
• 13. Maintain the good housekeeping at work area.
• 14. Shall have awareness on the requirements of TFS (Together for Sustainability).

Authorities:

• 15. Stop any unsafe work practices, Material rejection.
• Authorized to insist for re-work if work is not satisfactory.
