Job summary

Zydus Hospitals in Vadodara is seeking an Endoscopy Assistant to support GI procedures. You will prepare rooms, sterilize instruments, assist physicians and nurses, and help with specimen handling.

Job description

Job Purpose

To use endoscopes to diagnose or treat gastrointestinal problems. Interact with patients, prepare the room and the equipment, provide support to physicians and nurses while the procedure is underway, handle specimens collected, and sterilize equipment.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Maintain inventories of endoscopic equipment and supplies.
• Perform safety checks to verify proper equipment functioning.
• Prepare rooms according to endoscopic procedure requirements.
• Clean, disinfect, or calibrate scopes or other endoscopic instruments according to manufacturer recommendations and facility standards.
• Maintain or repair endoscopic equipment.
• Position or transport patients in accordance with instructions from medical personnel.
• Assist physicians or registered nurses in the conduct of endoscopic procedures.
• Attend in-service training to validate or refresh basic professional skills.
• Collect specimens from patients using standard medical procedures.
• Place devices, such as blood pressure cuffs, pulse oximeter sensors, nasal cannulas, surgical cautery pads, and cardiac monitoring electrodes, on patients to monitor vital signs.
• Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients.
• Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written.
• Any other work assigned by the management from time to time.

Working conditions

• Will work in Shifts (Morning, Evening Night) of 8.5 hours a day.
• Will remain on call for emergencies.
• Stretched working hours

Skills Abilities

• Should have very good assisting skill.
• Should have basic knowledge of computers.
• Should be polite good in communication while handling patient.
