Job summary

Mphasis seeks an Embedded Test Engineer to own the complete test lifecycle for embedded firmware products. You will develop master test plans, define test cases, automate tests with Robot Framework and Python, and perform integration and system‑level tests across hardware generations.

You will coordinate with ODM groups and validation teams, manage defect workflows, conduct security testing, and document results to ensure validation requirements are met.

• Execute BMC/firmware API tests (Redfish/IPMI 2.0) and develop test suites for management interfaces.
• Coordinate testing across multiple ODM groups and validation teams; manage defects and re-tests.
• Perform security testing including TLS lifecycle, firmware integrity, access control, and audit logs.
• Support validation with documentation and test results aligned to requirements.
• Conduct new hardware delta testing to assess changes and impact.

This role involves developing master test plans, defining test cases, automating tests, executing integration and system‑level tests, and coordinating with multiple ODM groups and the validation team. The ideal candidate will ensure thorough testing across hardware generations and validation cycles, contributing to the quality and reliability of our products.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive master test plan for embedded firmware products, covering integration, API, security, and system‑level testing.
• Define structured test cases based on firmware feature specifications and develop automated test scripts using Robot Framework and Python, targeting over 70% automation.
• Execute BMC/firmware API tests, including Redfish and IPMI 2.0, and develop test suites for management interfaces.
• Coordinate testing activities across multiple ODM groups and customer validation teams, managing defect workflows and re‑test cycles effectively.
• Conduct security testing, including TLS certificate lifecycle management, firmware integrity verification, access control validation, and audit log checks.
• Support the validation team by providing necessary documentation and test results, ensuring alignment with validation requirements.
• Perform new hardware delta testing to assess changes and their impact on existing functionalities.

Mandatory Skills:

• Proficient in embedded firmware test engineering, including hardware‑in‑loop test lab setup and defect lifecycle management.
• Experience in test case definition and automation, with a strong ability to translate specifications into actionable test cases.
• Familiarity with BMC/firmware API testing, specifically with Redfish and IPMI 2.0.
• Demonstrated experience in multi‑party coordination, managing test activities across various ODM groups and customer validation teams.
• Strong understanding of security testing methodologies and execution.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with LBAA/OneCLI or equivalent vendor management tool compatibility testing.
• Knowledge of performance and stress testing for BMC management interfaces.
• Familiarity with automated GUI/web UI testing tools such as Selenium or Playwright.
• Experience with OEM test methodologies.
• Understanding of CI/CD test integration, particularly with Robot Framework in GitLab CI pipelines.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. Equivalent experience will be considered for candidates with a strong background in embedded firmware test engineering.
