Job summary

Quest Global in Bangalore is seeking Lead Embedded Software Engineers to design, develop and support real-time embedded software applications for rail and transit projects.

The role focuses on Linux/C++ real-time software development, with responsibilities including design, coding, testing, debugging, configuration and documentation in a collaborative team. A BS in engineering is required and 5–10 years' experience is expected; MS is a plus.

Qualifications

• BS in Software Engineering/Computer Science/Electrical/Electronics Engineering required; MS a plus with 5–10 years work experience.
• Good understanding of Linux operating systems and networking (TCP/IP).
• Solid experience with SCM, change management, defect tracking, software builds and release processes.
• Experience implementing development processes including requirements tracing with ReqPro and DOORS.
• Effective oral and written communication skills; self-driven and quality-focused.
• High attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Analysis, design and development of software for real-time applications on a Linux-like platform using C and/or C++.
• Design, code, test, debug, configure and document software per policies.
• Collaborate with a team to meet project requirements within schedule and budget.
• System analysis and design of real-time applications; define interfaces and software architecture.
• Support fault isolation, troubleshooting and root cause analysis during integration and testing.
• Triage issues to assess impact, determine workarounds and propose solutions.
• Assist with requirements, design and code reviews.
• Work from Wabtec Bangalore office to enable collaboration.

Job Summary:

Design, develop and support real-time embedded software applications for our customer, they're a leading supplier of technology-based products and services for the rail and transit industries.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

• Analysis, design and development of software for real-time applications on a Linux-like platform using C and/or C++.
• Participate in designing, coding, testing, debugging, configuring, and documenting software as per the company's policies and procedures.
• Working with a team to develop solutions that meet project requirements within the program schedule and budget constraints.
• Take an active role in systems analysis and design of real time applications, defining interfaces between system segments and software architecture and design.
• Facilitate support for fault isolation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis activities during system integration and validation testing.
• Triage reported issues to assess impact, determine work arounds and propose solutions.
• Assist with activities like requirements, design and code reviews.
• Work from Wabtec Bangalore office to have work collaboration.
