Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking an Electromechanical Design Engineer for HVDC projects in Chennai, India. The role focuses on primary engineering for HVDC converter stations, installation drawings, and yard material detailing to ensure safety and reliability of the end equipment.

You will lead development of new solutions for complex projects, coordinate across disciplines, and prepare comprehensive project documents while acting as the design authority for electromechanical engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• 2–6 years' experience in primary layout, building requirement and insulation drawings for substations.
• Experience with REVIT and AutoCAD, plus Teamcenter.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Lead development of new solutions for complex projects and drive completion of all engineering activities.
• Coordinate engineering disciplines across projects and support testing, installation, and commissioning.
• Prepare complete project documents and act as design authority for electromechanical engineering.

Electromechanical Design Engineer - HVDC

The Electromechanical design engineer has a responsibility to understand technical requirements for Primary engineering of HVDC converter station, Installation drawings and detail design of yard materials there by ensuring safety of the end equipment and HVDC station as a whole.

How you’ll make an impact:

• You will ensure that engineering is developed with complete information and that all multidisciplinary information has been included.
• You will be leading development of new solutions for complex projects and challenges, driving completion of all engineering activities on the project.
• You will be coordinating engineering discipline across several projects, provide technical support for testing, installation and commissioning activities, prepare complete project documents in area of responsibility.
• You will act as a design authority for Electromechanical engineering discipline and complete engineering assignments with the knowledge of the design principles, internal guidelines and applicable standards used within the technical field of the department.
• You will be providing cost effective quality solutions and delivering within budget and contract, ensure adherence to safety standards and mitigation of potential risks, create work plans and cost estimates, scope, budget and schedule for assignments.
• You will interact directly with customers, officials, contractors and supply chain.
• You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background:

• You hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical / mechanical engineering.
• You should have 2 to 6 years of experience in Design of Primary Layout Drawing, Building requirement drawings & Insulation drawings for substation project.
• You must have experience in REVIT tool & AUTOCAD tools along with Teamcenter experience.
• Knowledge & Experience MS Office i.e. Word, Excel.
