Job summary

Cyient in Hyderabad seeks an Electrical harness design engineer with 4-10 years of experience. You will design electrical harnesses in CATIA V5, route wiring with Enovia PLM, and support EFI/EHI installations for vehicle subsystems and car level assemblies.

The role requires skilled interpretation of schematics, sheet metal design input, and the ability to lead design activities while coordinating with internal teams and customers. Experience in aero domains is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from premier institutes.
• Thorough knowledge of sheet metal component design, material & thickness selection.
• Competent in electrical harness modeling in CATIA V5 with Enovia – EHI and EFI.
• Able to interpret electrical schematics and apply during harness routing.

Responsibilities

• To support design activities per project requirements with quality and timely delivery.
• Participate in design/verification reviews and provide associated reports.
• Conduct internal quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency across deliveries.
• Technically lead projects, guide team members and interface with stakeholders and customers.
• Maintain process-related and applicable documents.
• Contribute to turn-backs and RCAs.

4-10 Years Expertise on Electrical harness Design in CATIA V5 with Enovia – Electrical harness Routing (EHI) and Electrical Fitting installation (EFI), 3D FTA.
Thorough knowledge on Sheet metal component design, material and thickness selection.
Knowledge or Awareness of Schematics
Bachelor’s Degree /Master’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from premier institutes

Responsibilities:

• To support in design activities as per project requirement and deliver with quality and respect timelines.
• Participates in design/ verification reviews and provide associated reports.
• Conduct self and team’s internal quality checks and ensure the accuracy and consistency all across deliveries.
• Technically lead project, guide team members and interface with internal stakeholders and customer.
• Maintains process related and applicable documents.
• Contributes to turn backs and RCAs.

Required Skills:

• Thorough knowledge on Sheet metal component design, material, and thickness selection.
• Competent on Electrical harness modeling in CATIA V5 with Enovia – Electrical harness Routing (EHI) and Electrical Fitting installation (EFI).
• Independently handle Electrical harness modeling related to subsystem and car level.
• Able to interpret electrical schema and good understanding and able to apply while routing the harness.
• Wire Bundle calculation.
• Selection of protection, connectors, conduit, etc
• Good Knowledge of materials & mechanical characteristics.
• Ability to perform a weight assessment on assemblies, aggregates, and installations.
• Ability to analyze manufacturing non-conformity and to validate a back-up solution.
• Ability to integrate manufacturing requirements in the design & perform dimensional stack up.
• Able to define fasteners and joint design.
• Able to define the most suitable design according to the assembly criticality.
• Good knowledge of drawing rules and GDT&T using relevant standards ASME , DIN, EN, ISO ,MIL, SAE and DO.
• Hands-on experience of CAD tools like Catia V5 and PLM platform like Enovia to create and validate 3D and 2D.
• Design of Mounting definitions for subsystems, with due consideration of boundary conditions & failure opportunities.
• Able to perform basic calculation on screwed assemblies.
• Knowledge on electrical components is preferred.
• Candidates from Aero industry experience is preferred.
