Job summary

Cummins India is seeking an experienced maintenance professional to perform day-to-day maintenance and troubleshoot production equipment. You will diagnose issues, perform PM/PdM/CM/EM activities, and update records in MAXIMO to drive uptime.

Candidates should have hands-on experience with CNC, FANUC/Siemens controllers, and PLC systems, plus hydraulic/pneumatic familiarity. The role involves supporting three shifts and ensuring safety standards and 5S in the shop.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on maintenance experience with CNC machines, robots, SPMs, washing machines, conveyors, nut runners, and other production equipment.
  • Strong working knowledge of FANUC and Siemens controllers.
  • Hands-on experience with Siemens, Mitsubishi, and B&R PLC systems.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience in preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day maintenance activities and troubleshoot equipment breakdowns in the machine shop.
  • Diagnose and resolve machine and equipment-related issues to ensure maximum uptime.
  • Execute PM, PdM, CM, and EM activities.
  • Update maintenance records and work orders in the Cummins MAXIMO system.
  • Monitor and improve equipment performance indicators such as uptime, MTBF, and MTTR.
  • Maintain and analyze machine breakdown history and prepare maintenance reports.
  • Undertake maintenance improvement projects to enhance KPIs and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with LOTO, risk assessments, work permits, and safety practices.
  • Adhere to safety regulations, PPE requirements, and workplace discipline standards.
  • Maintain 5S standards in the Machine Shop and Plant Engineering Department.
  • Drive housekeeping improvements and maintain a disciplined work environment.
  • Support maintenance operations across all three shifts as required.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery: - Perform electrical repairs and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. - Demonstrate a high level of competency in core work skills. - Perform and document preventive, emergency, corrective and predictive maintenance activities. - Conform to applicable codes and standards to maintain, install, and operate electrical systems. - Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks. - Perform other duties as required to meet business goals. - Identify and reduce manufacturing constraints. - Schedule maintenance activities around production requirements. - Solve problems and improve processes. - Participate in continuous improvement activities.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
