Job description

Job Summary

As part of a formal skilled trades training program, assists site Electrician skilled trades to learn and develop electrical skills in a manufacturing environment under direct guidance. Apprentice will be required to successfully complete and document specified classes and a minimum quantity of on the job training hours. Learns and understands the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)

  • Assists with preventive, emergency, corrective and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks.
  • Identifies and reduces manufacturing constraints.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

CNC HMC Electrical / Mechatronics - Maintenance Technician
Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on CNC HMC machines to ensure optimal performance.
  2. Troubleshoot mechanical issues, including electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication, coolant systems.
  3. Conduct inspections and preventative or predictive maintenance to minimize machine downtime.
  4. Coordinate with production staff to schedule maintenance activities without disrupting operations.
  5. Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately and timely ordered shortages required parts and coordinate with CIP team for spare parts procurements and localization and on time delivery.
  6. Train and supervise less experienced maintenance staff as needed. prepares SOPs / One point lessons for important learnings and procedures.
  7. Implement maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
  8. Work on cost saving / energy saving / Kaizens / and promote and initiate to use of green energy in plant.
Required Qualifications
  1. Experience: 4-5 years of hands‑on electronics /electrical maintenance experience, specifically with CNC machines, preferably HMCs.
  2. Education: Technical diploma / degree or certification in mechatronics engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
  3. Knowledge:
    • Strong understanding of CNC machine operation and maintenance. Ball screw / Table / Fixture / APCs / Guideways / HMCs Spindle / Bearing replacement / Pump - motor replacements repairs.
    • Familiarity with mechanical components, hydraulic systems, and basic electrical circuits.
    • Knowledge of tooling and work holding systems relevant to HMC operations.
  4. Skills:
    • Proficiency in using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and machine tools.
    • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Backup management / Software management / I4.0 automations and others.
    • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints and other maintenance documentation work.
  5. Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA safety, CNC machining) are a plus.
  6. Soft Skills: Effective communication, teamwork, and time management abilities. And able to report collection related to maintenance facilities parameter and prepare and share MIS on weekly /basis.
Additional Preferences
  • Experience with specific brands or models of CNC HMCs. - MAG / MAKINO / MAZAK
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment. in Cylinder block and head manufacturing.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to work varying shifts and overtime as required. with self motivated and positive attitude.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy machinery components and perform tasks in confined spaces.
  • Follow Cummins Safety Policy and standards.
