Job summary

KCS Corporation is seeking a Project Engineer to support Power Transmission and Renewable Energy projects. The role involves detailed physical electrical design for high-voltage substations, including schematics, grounding, BOMs, and equipment specifications.

You will coordinate CAD work, prepare calculations, and interact with clients and authorities. Ideal candidates have 5–10 years' HV substation experience, a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, and proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–10 years of experience with high-voltage substation work.
• Familiarity with NEC, NESC and IEEE codes and standards.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation; ETAP/CYME/WinIGS knowledge is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication, presentation and business development skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete physical electrical design including schematics, wiring diagrams, grounding calculations and conduit schedules.
• Prepare BOMs, station service sizing, battery sizing and major equipment specs.
• Coordinate with CAD designers and maintain project status reports; attend meetings with clients and vendors.

Job description

Seeking Project Engineer to support Power Transmission and Renewable Energy Development Projects throughout the US. The candidate will be responsible for the detailed Substation Physical design for high voltage substationprojects.

The Project Engineer shall perform complete physical electrical design including electrical schematics, electrical wiring diagrams, grounding calculations, grounding details, conduit and wire schedules, bill of materials, AC Station Service sizing, battery sizing, major equipment specifications, and client’s required project documentation.

In addition, the Engineer shall perform other project tasks such as coordinating with CAD designers to develop organized, quality CAD drawings preparation and maintenance of project status reports; attend project meetings, coordinate tasks with other disciplines, clients and vendors. Candidate will also be interacting with clients and building officials during the course of design.Prepare calculations packages for grounding, lightning protection and lighting.

Requirements

Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from US University or equivalent. Experience: 5-10 yrs. exp. Previous experience in high-voltage substation work is required.

Codes & Standards: NEC, NESC, IEEE

Software Skills: ETAP, CYME, WinIGS, Proficient in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation

Personal Skills: Good written and oral communications skills, presentation skills, business development skills, organized, and self-starter.
