Job summary

KCS Corporation seeks a Project Engineer to support Power Transmission and Renewable Energy Development Projects across the US. The role focuses on detailed Substation Physical design for high-voltage substations, including schematics, wiring diagrams, grounding calculations, BOMs, and equipment sizing.

You will coordinate with CAD designers, attend meetings, and interact with clients and building officials during design.

Qualifications

• Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from US University or equivalent. Experience: 5-10 yrs. exp. Previous experience in high-voltage substation work is required.
• Codes & Standards: NEC, NESC, IEEE
• Software Skills: ETAP, CYME, WinIGS, Proficient in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
• Personal Skills: Good written and oral communications skills, presentation skills, business development skills, organized, and self-starter.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed physical electrical design for high-voltage substations, including schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Conduct grounding calculations, grounding details, conduit and wire schedules, and BOM preparation.
• Size AC Station Service, battery sizing, and major equipment specifications; document preparation.
• Coordinate with CAD designers, attend project meetings, and report project status.
• Interact with clients and building officials during the design process; develop calculations for grounding, lightning, and lighting.

Job description

Seeking Project Engineer to support Power Transmission and Renewable Energy Development Projects throughout the US. The candidate will be responsible for the detailed Substation Physical design for high voltage substationprojects.

The Project Engineer shall perform complete physical electrical design including electrical schematics, electrical wiring diagrams, grounding calculations, grounding details, conduit and wire schedules, bill of materials, AC Station Service sizing, battery sizing, major equipment specifications, and client’s required project documentation.

In addition, the Engineer shall perform other project tasks such as coordinating with CAD designers to develop organized, quality CAD drawings preparation and maintenance of project status reports; attend project meetings, coordinate tasks with other disciplines, clients and vendors. Candidate will also be interacting with clients and building officials during the course of design.Prepare calculations packages for grounding, lightning protection and lighting.
