Job summary

HARTEK GROUP in Gurugram, India seeks a Senior Electrical Substation Design Engineer with 12–18 years in EHV/HV substations. You will lead multi‑disciplinary design activities for AIS/GIS substations up to 220 kV, mentor teams, and coordinate with clients to drive timely project delivery.

Key responsibilities include preparing technical specifications, developing SLDs and control philosophies, performing power system studies (ETAP), and ensuring designs meet standards and client requirements.

Qualifications

  • e12–18 years of experience in Electrical Design & Engineering for EHV/HV substations.
  • Hands-on experience in AIS/GIS substations up to 220 kV.
  • Proven experience in leading engineering teams and coordinating multidisciplinary design activities.
  • Exposure to client interactions and design reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare tender specifications, data sheets, MRs, TBEs, DBRs, and detailed technical specs for substation projects.
  • Develop SLDs, protection SLDs, schematic and wiring diagrams, I/O lists, control philosophies, and logic diagrams for electrical systems.
  • Execute substation engineering for AIS/GIS up to 220 kV, including conductor sizing and short‑circuit calculations.
  • Review and approve layouts and drawings to ensure compliance with standards and client specs.
  • Lead design reviews and project coordination meetings with internal teams and clients.
  • Mentor and develop the engineering team to enhance capability and standardization.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Prepare tender specifications, data sheets, Material Requisitions (MRs), Technical Bid Evaluations (TBEs), Design Basis Reports (DBRs), and detailed technical specifications for substation projects.
  • Develop Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), protection SLDs, schematic and wiring diagrams, I/O lists, control philosophies, and logic diagrams for EHV, MV, and LV electrical systems.
  • Execute substation engineering activities for AIS/GIS substations up to 220 kV, including conductor sizing, sag‑tension analysis, protection philosophy, and short‑circuit force calculations.
  • Perform sizing and selection of electrical equipment, including CTs, PTs, power transformers, DC systems, UPS systems, auxiliary systems, switchgear, MCCs, and associated electrical components.
  • Carry out detailed engineering calculations for cables, cable trays, conduits, earthing, lightning protection, illumination systems, and related electrical infrastructure.
  • Perform power system studies such as load flow, short‑circuit, motor starting, and other network analyses using ETAP software along with manual engineering calculations where required.
  • Review and approve engineering layouts and drawings, including Substation General Arrangement (GA), Equipment Layouts, Erection Key Diagrams, Earth Mat layouts, Cable Routing/Raceways, Grounding, and Lighting layouts.
  • Review engineering deliverables, technical documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project scope, applicable standards, quality requirements, and customer specifications. Coordinate multidisciplinary design activities with internal engineering teams to achieve timely project execution.
  • Lead project kick‑off meetings, technical discussions, design review meetings, client meetings, and progress review meetings to ensure effective project coordination and timely resolution of engineering issues.
  • Mentor, guide, and develop the engineering team by providing technical leadership, reviewing deliverables, and driving continuous capability enhancement.
  • Capture project learnings, maintain the Lessons Learned database, and implement best engineering practices to improve design quality, productivity, and standardization across projects.
Experience
  • e12–18 year s of experience in Electrical Design & Engineering for EHV/HV substations within the Power Transmission & Distribution or EPC industry
  • Hands‑on experience in the design of AIS/GIS substations up to 220 kV
  • Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing multidisciplinary design activities for EPC projects
  • Exposure to client interactions, technical bid evaluations, design reviews, and project coordination
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech.) in Electrical Engineering from a recognized universit
  • y.Master's degree in Power Systems or Electrical Engineering will be an added advantag
