Job summary

VKA Powermaster in Bengaluru invites an electrical design engineer to design electrical panels (PCC, MCC, APFC, PLC, VFD) and prepare SLDs, schematics, wiring, and terminal diagrams. The role involves creating panel GA drawings, layouts, and selecting components for reliable control systems.

You will perform detailed electrical calculations, produce BOMs, schedules, ensure IEC/IS compliance, review specifications, and collaborate with production, procurement, testing, and commissioning teams to

Responsibilities

• Design electrical panels such as PCC, MCC, APFC, PLC, VFD, control and automation panels
• Prepare electrical single-line diagrams (SLD), schematic/control circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams, and terminal diagrams
• Develop panel GA drawings, mounting plate layouts, busbar layouts, and component layouts
• Select appropriate electrical components such as MCCBs, MCBs, contactors, relays, overload relays, VFDs, PLCs, SMPS, transformers, meters, terminals, and other control components
• Perform electrical calculations for load and power requirements, cable sizing, breaker selection, short-circuit ratings, busbar sizing, voltage drop, and power factor correction
• Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials) and material specifications
• Generate cable schedules, terminal schedules, I/O lists, and other engineering documents
• Ensure designs comply with IEC/IS standards and customer specifications
• Review customer specifications, technical drawings, and tender documents
• Coordinate with production, procurement, testing, project, and commissioning teams
• Provide technical support during panel manufacturing, testing, installation, and commissioning
• Review and resolve design-related issues during production and testing
• Incorporate engineering changes and maintain revision-controlled drawings
• Support FAT/SAT activities and assist in troubleshooting electrical/control issues
• Coordinate with customers and suppliers whenever required for technical clarifications
