Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 5 – 8 years of experience in generator control systems and panel design
- Knowledge of Low Voltage Directive, island and parallel grid operations
- Understanding of CE safety compliance, DFMEA, HARA, and risk assessment
- Experience with CAN, Modbus, TCP/IP, and BMS communication protocols
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP and Windchill, and drafting in Eplan Electric P8
Core Responsibilities
- Basic understanding of gensets, diesel engines, and peripheral devices
- Design control systems for stationary applications, mainly gensets up to 1000 kVA
- Ensure CE and low‑voltage safety compliance for all control panels
- Switchgear and component selection with detailed specifications
- System development and integration of genset control systems
- Select appropriate genset controllers (Deif, Deepsea, Basler, Comap)
- Implement CAN communication between ECU and genset controller
- Use Modbus & TCP/IP for data transfer or BMS integration
- Integrate power cable, CT selection, and voltage regulator into the control system
- Select generators for fixed frequencies of 50 or 60 Hz
- Manage disconnecting switches, including MCBs up to 1600 A
- Design DC systems: batteries, cables, DC alternators, starter motors, chargers
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure designs meet international electrical standards and CE safety regulations
- Apply DFMEA, HARA, risk assessments, and corrective measures
Design Optimization
- Reduce wiring complexity and improve maintainability through modular design
- Calculate electrical loads, short‑circuit currents, and voltage drops
- Apply value‑engineering to balance cost and performance
Reliability Engineering
- Design redundancy and fail‑safe mechanisms
- Perform fault tree analysis and reliability‑centered design
Additional Requirements
- Exposure to design validation and factory acceptance testing (FAT)
- Experience with Eplan P8, macros, assemblies, 2D/3D layouts, BOM generation and reporting
- Document and communicate end‑to‑end process documentation to stakeholders
- Logical, analytical, and innovative thinking skills
- Effective individual and team collaboration in global environments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized
- Fluent in English and capable of interpreting procedural documents
