Job summary

Worley is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join its team in Kolkata. You will lead electrical design activities, generate key documentation, and conduct power system studies using ETAP to support medium-sized projects.

The role requires deep knowledge of HV/MV/LV protection, earthing, lightning protection, and electrical layouts with 8+ years of relevant experience. Collaborative and safety-conscious, you will drive quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably MMM/MH sector.
• Experience with ETAP and electrical design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare SLDs, protection and metering diagrams, and load schedules.
• Perform power system studies using ETAP, including short circuit and load flow analyses.
• Develop protection and metering SLDs for HV/MV/LV systems.

Purpose:

Experienced Electrical Engineer having a background and exposure of MMM/MH sector with sound technical knowledge in Basic and Detailed Engineering activities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in generating key Electrical documentation and a strong foundation in design, engineering & project management to lead a medium size project.

The Role:

As an Electrical Engineer Worley, you will work closely with our existing team to deliver projects for our clients while continuing to develop your skills and experience etc.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLD), Protection & Metering Diagrams, and Load Schedules.
• Conduct Power System Studies using ETAP software, including short circuit analysis load flow analysis and Dynamic Motor starting.
• Develop Protection & Metering SLDs for HV/MV/LV systems.
• Perform calculations and design for Earthing and Lightning Protection systems (shall be familiar with IEEE-80 standard).
• Design and calculate lighting systems according to relevant standards (Knowledge of Lighting software like DIALux, AGI 32 preferable).
• Perform HV/MV/LV cable sizing calculation.
• Perform Equipment Sizing calculations e.g. Transformer, Switchgear, Emergency Diesel Generator, UPS & Battery Charger (shall be familiar with IEEE 485, IEEE 1115).
• Develop Cable Schedules and perform Hazardous Area Classification & Equipment Selection.
• Size electrical equipment and prepare technical specifications, data sheets, and Material Requisitions (MR).
• Review vendor offers and participate in Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE).
• Concept development of Substation equipment layouts.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Develop Material take-offs for Electrical bulk items.
• Lead a team of engineers and designers throughout project execution, ensuring quality and adherence to timelines.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Familiarity with 3D modeling for electrical layouts and systems (Knowledge of 3D model review softwares like Navisworks, SPR etc. preferable).
• Insightful knowledge of various International standards like IEC, IEEE, NEC, NEMA, NFPA, API, IS etc.
• Conversant of HSE requirements & safety studies viz. E-Hazop, EMC study, Ergonomic study, HAZID etc.

About You

To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from recognized University / Institution.
• More than 8 years of rich experience in Electrical Engineering, preferably in MMM/ MH sector including DRI, Battery Minerals and Ferrous, Non-ferrous Refinery projects.
• Proficient in preparing electrical design documentation and conducting power system study using ETAP.
• Strong knowledge of Electrical Power system, HV/MV/LV system Protections, earthing, lightning protection, Cable sizing, lighting design, and hazardous area classification.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Familiarity with electrical design software and 3D model review tools.
