Job summary

Quest Global in Bengaluru is seeking engineers to support electrical engineering activities for power plant subsystems, including excitation systems, AVRs, transformers, and protection relays. You will prepare and review design documents, SLDs, and protection philosophies, while coordinating with vendors and EPCs to meet project requirements.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience with project lifecycles, and the ability to engage with clients.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of industrial electrical systems and power generation applications.
• Familiarity with IEC standards, especially for Asian and Middle East projects, will be an added advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle technical discussions with vendors and clients.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Exposure to complete project lifecycle activities including Engineering, Procurement, Installation support, Testing & commissioning, Startup support.
• Tool Skills: ETAP (Optional), AutoCAD Electrical (Good to Have)

Responsibilities

• Support engineering activities associated with following subsystems of power plant.
• Transformers (for Excitation system and SFC).
• Excitation systems.
• Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVR).
• Static Frequency Converters (SFC).
• Metering systems.
• Generator Control & Protection Relay Panel (GCRP).
• Prepare, review, and understand design documents for generator main section electrical systems and respective Single Line Diagrams (SLD).
• Calculation sheets and logic diagrams.
• Protection philosophies.
• Specifications and electrical engineering documents.
• Site test procedure and site test report.
• Perform engineering review and technical analysis related to generator protection systems, short circuit calculations, and electrical coordination studies.
• Apply relevant ANSI / IEEE standards including IEEE 242, IEEE 551.
• Procurement & Vendor Coordination/Management including review of vendor documents and interfacing with EPC/end-user for approvals.
• Project & Execution Support including contract specification review and gap analysis, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting FAT, SAT, commissioning, troubleshooting, and startup activities.
• Ensure compliance with project standards, quality requirements, and customer specifications.

• Perform contract specification review and gap analysis based on previous project experience.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams.
• Support FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), SAT, commissioning, troubleshooting, and startup activities whenever required.
• Ensure compliance with project standards, quality requirements, and customer specifications.
