Job Requirements
At Quest Global, it’s not just what we do but how and why we do it that makes us different. With over 25 years as an engineering services provider, we believe in the power of doing things differently to make the impossible possible. Our people are driven by the desire to make the world a better place—to make a positive difference that contributes to a brighter future. We bring together technologies and industries, alongside the contributions of diverse individuals who are empowered by an intentional workplace culture, to solve problems better and faster.
Key Responsibilities
As a member of the technical team within the Grid department, your primary objective will be to perform calculations, studies and review technical documentation related to Control, Protection and SCADA systems to ensure compliance with grid connection requirements across the various countries in which the Grid EMEA team operates. You will report directly to the Head of Grid Engineering, who will coordinate, negotiate and liaise as key point of contact with diverse internal and external stakeholders at the regional level to establish optimized solutions, strategies, priorities and requirements pertinent to the grid connection design.
- Review and provide comments on basic and detailed engineering for planning, tendering, construction and commissioning stages (i.e. as-built HV engineering designs, C&P Architecture, logical diagrams, interlocking concepts, lists of signals of HV substations).
- Review manufacturers’ designs of HV equipment related to Control and Protection systems, SCADA and telecommunication, control and protection equipment, relays and devices, parametrization of relays and other MV/HV equipment.
- Calculation of HV installations, protection coordination studies, AC/DC system load studies, CTs and VTs sizing calculations.
- Preparation of HV substation design deliverables (i.e. conceptual detailed design for preparation of RFP, planning, detailed design for contestable works tendering in coordination with the GRID project team, etc.).
- Perform the necessary calculations and studies based on the technical risk and hazard analysis identified by the GRID project team.
- Contribute to optimization of interconnection solutions, costs, deadlines, quality and risks.
- Support to centralise and compile all information, lessons learned, engineering knowledge, as well as local regulations and best practices in the different regions.
- Responsible for preparation of periodical engineering status progress reports, internal, EPC/ICPs, HV manufacturers, minutes of meetings and others; report on engineering activities on a regular basis to the Head of HV Engineering – EMEA.
We are known for our extraordinary people who make the impossible possible every day. Questians are driven by hunger, humility, and aspiration. We believe that our company culture is the key to our ability to make a true difference in every industry we reach. Our teams regularly invest time and dedicated effort into internal culture work, ensuring that all voices are heard. We wholeheartedly believe in the diversity of thought that comes with fostering a culture rooted in respect, where everyone belongs, is valued, and feels inspired to share ideas. We know embracing our unique differences makes us better, and that solving the world’s hardest engineering problems requires diverse ideas, perspectives, and backgrounds. We shine the brightest when we tap into the many dimensions that thrive across over 21,000 difference-makers in our workplace.
