Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is looking for a qualified Electrical Engineer with 4 to 10 years of experience in electrical substations. This role involves equipment sizing, preparation of technical documents, and coordination with clients.

Qualifications

Specific Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
4 to 8 years of experience in food industries, Oil and Gas (or similar), Mining, related biomass-based biofuel and other industrial projects.
Experience with Industrial project equipment such as (but not limited to) Blowers, Conveyers flakers, expellers, mills, cake crispers/coolers, pellet mills, seed conditioners, cookers and cleaners.
Experience with balance of plant related activities such as Sub-station, Pump stations, Material handling.
Equipment sizing, Cable sizing, Specifications, Document Review
System studies, Electrical Protections

General Experience/Skills:

Materials handling experience & skills (sizing/purchasing/drawing reviews/etc):- Conveyors
Bucket Elevators
Pneumatic Conveying
General materials handling & processing – experience working with conveyors, spouts, slide gates, hoppers, mills, etc
National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) specification experience (familiarity with standards and experience working with them for site layout/tank design). Specifically related to:- NFPA 70 – National Electric Code
NFPA 497
Knowledge of International standards like ISA, BS, IEC, NEMA, CEC, IEEE
General Electircal/process experience & skills (specifying/purchasing/drawing reviews/etc) :- Pumps/Rotating equipment

Knowledge ad hands on experience of any 2D and 3D drafting software such as AutoCAD, REVIT, Plant 3D. Bentley MicroStation and Open Plant will be additional advantage.
Have excellent data manipulation abilities (MS Excel/MS Access database type packages)
Technical report writing skills.
Self starter, proactive, motivated person who can grab projects and work with the wider team to deliver.
Able to prioritize workloads whilst maintaining strong and trusting working relationships with Clients' and colleague's both locally and across the broader Stantec team.

Key Accountabilities:

Electrical equipment sizing, calculations, and selection
Lighting and earthig Calculation
Preparation of technical specifications, reports, schedules, data sheets and deliverables
Preparation of General Arrangement drawings by using various drafting software
Preparation/review of Bid analysis
Condition assessment
Preparation of Bill of Quantities
Conduit development/ Cable Schedule
Carry out other duties as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor/management,
Need to work off-hours for client co-ordination: Occasionally
Need to travel off-shore for training / on-site work: Occasionally
Bachelor/ master’s degree in Electrical engineering.
7 to 10 years of experience in Electrical Substation for Both AIS & GIS Stations, Renewable energy.
Experience in with balance of plant related activities such as Sub-station, Material handling.
Experience in Co-ordination with Customer and Suppliers.
Experience in System Studies & Primary, Secondary Knowledge in substation design.
Experience in Electrical Equipment sizing, Cable sizing.
