Job summary

Macawber Beekay is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer for O&M at Meenakshi Energy Power Plant in Andhra Pradesh. The role focuses on maintaining electrical systems, ensuring reliability and safety, and supporting plant operations. Diploma/B.Tech/B.E.

in Electrical Engineering with 3–8 years of experience in thermal power plants is preferred. Knowledge of HT/LT switchgear, MCC/PCC, transformers and VFDs is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Diploma/B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 3–8 years of experience in electrical maintenance in thermal power/ O&M environments preferred.
• Experience with HT/LT systems, switchgear, transformers and MCC/PCC is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of electrical equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot HT/LT switchgear, MCC, PCC, transformers, motors, VFDs and control panels.
• Monitor electrical equipment parameters and identify abnormalities or potential failures.
• Attend electrical breakdowns and ensure timely restoration of equipment.
• Execute planned shutdown and annual maintenance activities.
• Carry out inspection, testing, cable termination and electrical equipment maintenance.
• Coordinate with Mechanical and C&I teams during equipment maintenance and breakdowns.
• Support smooth operation of AHP / Material Handling electrical systems.
• Ensure proper maintenance of motors, starters, MCC/PCC panels and associated electrical systems.
• Maintain electrical maintenance records, logbooks, checklists and daily MIS.
• Ensure compliance with PTW, LOTO and electrical safety procedures.
• Coordinate with site/client teams, contractors and technicians for maintenance activities.
• Monitor critical electrical spares and coordinate with Stores for availability.
