The Engineer II – Electrical is responsible for supporting assigned product development projects through electrical system design, analysis, validation, and cross‑functional collaboration. This role partners with engineering, product management, operations, sourcing, quality, service, and suppliers to develop new features, technologies, and product concepts for portable energy storage and portable generator products. The position supports the development and validation of systems including power converters, power electronics, control interface modules, and battery modules, and drives root cause analysis and corrective actions for issues identified during development and validation.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, validate, and support the release of electrical systems, subsystems, and component technologies for portable energy storage and portable generator products.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, and cross‑functional teams to develop new features, technologies, and product concepts.
- Define functional requirements and support system‑level architecture for battery modules, power converters, control interfaces, embedded electronics, and related electrical subsystems.
- Create and maintain statements of requirements, schematics, bills of materials, and other design documentation needed for development, validation, and release.
- Conduct electrical simulations and engineering analysis to evaluate performance, identify risks, and improve cost, reliability, and safety.
- Develop and execute component‑ and system‑level test plans, validation procedures, and test reports for electrical hardware and supporting firmware.
- Troubleshoot designs to the component level, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions for issues identified during testing, manufacturing, or field use.
- Support prototype builds, testing, and design verification activities for moderately complex projects.
- Collaborate with manufacturing partners, suppliers, contract manufacturers, and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability and project execution.
- Support selection and integration of new electrical technologies and components, including battery management devices, microcontrollers, and power electronics.
- Support thermal performance assessment and thermal management solutions for outdoor electrical equipment and enclosures to ensure acceptable operating conditions across intended use environments.
- Maintain awareness of applicable standards, regulations, and best practices related to embedded systems, power electronics, electrical safety, and energy storage products.
- Travel to Generac facilities, suppliers, or test locations as needed, including occasional domestic and limited international travel.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline; All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approved institute.
- 2 or more years of relevant electrical engineering experience in product design, development, or validation.
- Experience with PCB design, fabrication, assembly, and system integration.
- Hands‑on experience testing complex electronic components and systems using oscilloscopes, power supplies, and other standard electronic test equipment.
- Experience developing component‑ and system‑level test plans, test procedures, and test reports.
- Strong knowledge of design documentation, circuit simulation, schematic capture, layout, and prototype verification testing.
- Ability to develop firmware for technology evaluations, design investigations, and prototype verification activities.
- Proficiency in electrical design, schematic capture, PCB layout, and simulation tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Firmware development and validation experience.
- Experience with the design and development of high‑power electronics.
- Experience with renewable energy products, energy storage systems, portable power stations, or related power electronics‑enabled products.
- Demonstrated skill in root‑cause analysis of complex electronic hardware issues identified during testing, manufacturing, or field use.
- Ability to perform detail‑oriented work with a high degree of accuracy while supporting multiple projects and priorities.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information effectively to technical and non‑technical audiences, including leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to apply engineering knowledge to improve products, processes, and technical solutions.
