Job summary

MEPJOBS UK in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead and manage electrical design for large-scale commercial projects. You will develop and review electrical system designs, layouts, specifications and technical reports, and coordinate with other MEP disciplines on site.

The role requires expertise in HT/LT distribution, transformers, substations, DG, UPS, lighting, SLDs, BOQs and tender documents, plus hands-on testing, commissioning and handover.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of overall experience in Electrical Engineering/MEP projects.
• Strong experience in large-scale commercial and building projects.
• Experience in Airports, Hospitals, Hotels, Shopping Malls, IT Parks, Commercial Complexes, Data Centres or Institutional Buildings will be preferred.
• Experience in both design consultancy and project execution will be an added advantage.
• Should have experience in handling projects from concept/design through construction, testing, commissioning and handover.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage electrical engineering and design activities for large-scale commercial projects.
• Develop and review electrical system designs, layouts, specifications and technical reports.
• Design and review HT/LT power distribution systems, transformers, substations, DG sets, UPS, APFC, MCC and electrical panels.
• Carry out electrical load calculations, voltage-drop calculations, short-circuit studies and cable sizing.
• Design and review lighting, emergency lighting, small power, earthing and lightning protection systems.
• Review Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical layouts, equipment schedules and schematic drawings.
• Prepare and review BOQs, technical specifications, tender documents and design calculations.
• Review contractor/shop drawings, material submittals and technical proposals.
• Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, structural, HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting, ELV and other MEP disciplines.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors and other project stakeholders.
• Conduct technical reviews, design coordination meetings and site inspections.
• Monitor installation and execution of electrical works to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Supervise and provide technical guidance during testing, commissioning and handover of electrical systems.
• Identify technical issues and provide effective engineering solutions during design and construction stages.
• Ensure compliance with applicable NBC, IS, IEC and other relevant national/international electrical standards and statutory requirements.
• For airport projects, exposure to aviation-specific electrical systems and requirements will be an advantage.
• Ensure quality, safety and timely completion of electrical engineering deliverables.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior electrical engineers and design team members.
• Participate in client presentations, technical discussions and design review meetings.
• Support project management and business development teams with technical inputs for proposals and tenders.
