Job summary

WorleyParsons seeks an Electrical Designer Level II to manage designs and ensure compliance with project schedules. This role requires 8 to 15+ years of experience in oil & gas and petrochemicals, as well as proficiency in AutoCAD and Microstation.

You will oversee design integrity, liaise with engineers and clients, and assist with safety protocols. Successful candidates should be familiar with drafting procedures and have a commitment to quality assurance in deliverables.

Qualifications

• 8 – 15+ years of design experience with oil & gas, refinery, and petrochemicals.
• Sound knowledge of AutoCAD/Microstation and S3D/E3D software.
• Experience with SmartSketch(S3D) and Draft(E3D) is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Monitor own progress and ensure it comes within project schedule.
• Produce and check work packs and drawings.
• Guide designer team in their day‑to‑day activities.
• Provide information to assist in the production of detailed drawings, quantities and materials lists.
• Perform routine equipment selection, including complex calculations.
• Ensure that the level of design work is appropriate for the complexity of construction tasks.
• Ensure work conforms to applicable specifications, codes and standards.
• Maintain technical integrity of design deliverables.
• Apply knowledge and compliance with drafting procedures and drawing systems and applications.
• Apply knowledge of document control drawing systems.
• Liaise with other disciplines on technical issues and incorporate comments.
• Liaise with lead engineers regarding development work or construction.
• Liaise with suppliers, clients, consultants or commissioning engineers regarding design, installation or construction.
• Participate in the planning of projects as required.
• Conduct site visits and data gathering.
• Prepare and check as‑built drawings.
• Assist lead engineer in preparing material requisition (Requisition For Quotation) for electrical works and bulk materials.
• Assist lead engineer in preparing technical bid evaluations for electrical works and bulk materials.
• Assist lead engineer in reviewing vendor drawings for electrical works and bulk materials.
• Maintain records of drawings and other documents as assigned by Lead Engineer.
• Prepare transmittals for IDC, ICC and AFC drawings.
• Quality Assurance: responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the CSG.
• Safety: responsible for personal safety safe working practices for the CSG; understand and follow OH&S procedures.

Qualifications

• 8 – 15+ years of design experience with oil & gas, refinery and petrochemicals.
• Sound knowledge of AutoCAD/Microstation and S3D/E3D software.
• Experience with SmartSketch(S3D) / Draft(E3D) considered an advantage.
• Preference for candidates with extensive work experience with oil & gas, refinery, petrochemicals and power projects.
