Job summary

Elite HR Services is seeking an Electrical Designer to prepare 2D CAD drawings and review drawings from peers for accuracy and compliance. You will coordinate with Electrical, Mechanical, Piping, Civil/Structural, and Instrumentation teams to resolve interfaces and ensure adherence to codes and client requirements.

The role requires independent work on moderately to highly complex electrical drawings, strong attention to detail, and a solid understanding of electrical symbols and documentation

Qualifications

• Strong experience in 2D AutoCAD/CAD drafting and electrical design documentation.
• Ability to independently prepare moderate to highly complex electrical drawings.
• Good understanding of electrical engineering drawings, symbols, layouts, and design practices.
• Experience reviewing drawings prepared by other designers and vendor drawings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 2D CAD drawings of moderate to advanced complexity based on engineering specs and inputs.
• Review drawings prepared by other Electrical Designers for accuracy and compliance.
• Review interfaces with other disciplines to identify conflicts and discrepancies.
• Review vendor equipment drawings, datasheets and documentation for compliance with project specs.
• Identify discrepancies and coordinate with engineering teams to resolve issues.
• Ensure drawings incorporate approved changes and client requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve design interfaces and avoid clashes.
• Ensure drawings follow industry codes, standards, and procedures.
• Perform drawing quality checks before submission for reviews.
• Participate in design coordination meetings with technical inputs.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare 2D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) drawings of moderate to advanced complexity based on engineering specifications, calculations, design inputs, and project requirements.
• Review and check drawings prepared by other Electrical Designers for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with project standards.
• Review electrical drawings and documentation prepared by other engineering disciplines to identify interfaces, conflicts, and design discrepancies.
• Review vendor equipment drawings, datasheets, technical documentation, and electrical information for compliance with project specifications and design requirements.
• Identify discrepancies, missing information, clashes, and inconsistencies and actively coordinate with the relevant engineering teams to achieve resolution.
• Ensure drawings incorporate approved engineering changes, comments, revisions, and client requirements.
• Coordinate with Electrical Engineers, Mechanical, Piping, Civil/Structural, Instrumentation & Control, and other disciplines to resolve design interfaces and avoid clashes.
• Ensure all drawings are prepared in accordance with applicable industry codes, standards, client specifications, and departmental practices and procedures.
• Perform drawing quality checks before submission for internal or client review.
• Participate in design coordination meetings and provide technical inputs related to electrical drafting and design.

Requirement:

• Strong experience in 2D AutoCAD/CAD drafting and electrical design documentation.
• Ability to independently prepare moderate to highly complex electrical drawings.
• Good understanding of electrical engineering drawings, symbols, layouts, and design practices.
• Experience reviewing drawings prepared by other designers.
• Ability to review and interpret vendor drawings and equipment documentation.
• Strong knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, specifications, and design practices.
• Ability to identify design discrepancies and coordinate effectively for resolution.
• Strong attention to detail and drawing quality.
• Good knowledge of drawing revision control and engineering documentation procedures.
• Ability to work independently as well as coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
