Fyndbridge Consulting Services in Hyderabad is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to specialize in Large Power / EHV Transformer design rated 230 kV and above. You will lead hands-on electrical and insulation design with exposure to 230–765 kV class transformers, collaborating across engineering, manufacturing and testing teams.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for experienced Electrical Design Engineers with strong hands‑on experience in the design of Large Power / EHV Transformers rated 230 kV and above.

This is a specialist engineering opportunity for professionals who have worked on 230 kV, 345 To 400 kV, 500 kV or 765 kV class power

transformers and want to work on complex high-voltage transformer engineering and design challenges.

The role will involve hands‑on involvement in transformer electrical design, winding design, electrical calculations and high-voltage insulation design, with opportunities to work closely with engineering, manufacturing, testing and other technical teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform electrical design of large power transformers in the 230 kV to 765 kV range.

• Carry out transformer electrical design calculations including winding design, turns calculation, conductor selection, impedance, losses and short‑circuit calculations.

• Work on HV/EHV insulation design and insulation coordination.

• Design/review dielectric clearances and insulation systems for high-voltage transformer applications.

• Support electrical and insulation aspects of complex EHV transformer designs.

• Review design calculations, specifications and technical requirements.

• Work closely with mechanical design, manufacturing, testing and quality teams to ensure design feasibility and successful product realisation.

• Support design validation, testing, troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues.

• Ensure transformer designs comply with relevant IEC / IS / IEEE / BIS standards.

• For senior professionals, independently handle complex transformer design assignments and provide technical guidance to the wider engineering team.

WHAT MAKE THIS ROLE DIFFERENT

This is not a conventional electrical engineering or transformer maintenance role.

The position is specifically focused on hands‑on electrical and insulation design of Large Power / EHV Transformers and offers exposure to high-voltage transformer engineering in the 230 kV765 kV range

Mandatory Eligibility

Candidates must have hands‑on Electrical Design experience in Large Power / EHV Transformers rated 230 kV or above.

• Relevant experience includes actual involvement in areas such as Transformer electrical calculations,
• winding design
• Impedance/loss calculations,
• Short‑circuit calculations
• HV/EHV insulation design or
• Insulation coordination.

Profiles with only Distribution Transformers, Instrument Transformers, Small Transformers, MV Transformers, Transformer Testing, Maintenance, Commissioning or Production/Manufacturing experience will not be considered.

PREFERRED CANDIDATE PROFILE

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.

• Hands‑on experience in Large Power / EHV Transformer Design.

• Minimum transformer voltage class: 230 kV.

• Experience in 230 / 345 / 400 / 500 / 765 kV transformer applications preferred.

• Strong experience in electrical transformer design calculations.

• Experience in winding design, impedance, losses and short‑circuit calculations.
