Job summary

Sterling And Wilson Renewable Energy is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to design PV solar energy projects, perform calculations, prepare layouts, and review technical documents. You will ensure deliverables meet quality standards and adhere to industry codes.

The role requires familiarity with PV design tools, MS Office, AutoCAD, and electrical engineering standards. You will work on indoor/outdoor substation layouts and support tender processes in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical design for PV solar projects or similar energy systems.
• Ability to prepare and review engineering design calculations, drawings, layouts and reports.
• Familiarity with international standards AS/NZS, IEC, EN, BS, IEEE/ANSI, NEC and related codes.

Responsibilities

• Independent PV solar project design and engineering activities.
• Prepare and review design calculations, drawings, layouts and reports to meet project schedules.
• Ensure engineering deliverables meet quality guidelines and procedures.
• Produce and review PV plant SLDs, schemes, array layouts and cable routing layouts.
• Prepare BOMs, RFQ/Tender specifications and equipment sizing (modules, transformers, inverters, switchgear).
• Evaluate vendor offers and technical documentation for compliance.
• Apply knowledge of SCADA, CCTV, weather monitoring, and related safety systems.

Electrical design Engineer:

Duties & Responsibilities:-

PV solar energy project design and engineering functionindependently.

Prepare and review of engineering design calculations, drawings, Layouts, and design reports to suit to project schedule.

Ensureengineering deliverables with high quality as per departmental operatingprocedure and guidelines.

1. Computer literate with good knowledge of MS-office & AutoCAD.
2. Knowledge of simulation tools such as PVsyst , ETAP /PSS-E/DigSilent, Dialux/ Equivalent softwares.
3. Familiar with Engineering standards AS/NZS, IEC, EN, BS, IEEE/ANSI, NEC, and NFC & etc. and Australian codes, Safety regulations, Utility standards & etc.
4. Prepare and review of PV plant related Single Line diagram and Schemes such as AC SLD, DC SLD, Auxiliary system SLD & etc.
5. Prepare and review of PV plant related NZ Array layout, Cable routing layout, & etc.
6. Preparation and review of BOM, RFP & RFQ
7. Preparation of technical specifications and review of tender specifications.
8. Sizing/selection of PV module, SCB, Transformer, Inverter, Inverter Transformer, MV/LV switchgear/CRP Panel, Cable, Bus Bar/Duct, DG, UPS, Battery/Battery charger etc.
9. Calculation of Cable sizing, system Fault current, Power loss, Earthing, Lightning protection system, Lighting/Illumination system.
10. Design & Review of Equipment layouts, SLD/Schemes, General Arrangements (GA) of Indoor/Outdoor Control room/Substations drawings.
11. Review of Manufacturers/Vendor/Subcontrac tors Techno-Commercial Offers, Drawings & Documentations related to the products and services.
12. Knowledge on other allied systems such as SCADA, CCTV, Weather Monitoring stations, FireAlarm system & etc.
