Surya International Enterprise is seeking a Solar PV Design Engineer to prepare rooftop and ground-mounted system designs. You will develop layouts, perform shadow analysis, and position equipment, while producing electrical drawings and BOMs for MW-scale projects.

Applicants should have 3–7 years of solar design experience with hands-on skills in AutoCAD, PVsyst, HelioScope, and SketchUp, and knowledge of electrical standards and grid connectivity.

Qualifikationen

• B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering required.
• 3–7 years of relevant experience in solar PV system design.
• Experience in solar EPC, renewable energy, or solar project design consultancies preferred.
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, PVsyst, HelioScope, solar plant layout, SLD preparation, module and inverter sizing, and AC/DC cable sizing.

Aufgaben

• Prepare detailed solar PV system designs for rooftop and ground-mounted projects.
• Develop plant layouts, module placement plans, shadow analysis, and equipment positioning.
• Prepare electrical drawings including SLDs, AC/DC layouts, cable routing, earthing, and lightning protection.
• Perform system sizing, inverter selection, cable sizing, and load calculations.
• Utilise AutoCAD, PVsyst, HelioScope, and SketchUp for design and simulations.
• Conduct energy generation assessments, irradiation analysis, and performance simulations.
• Prepare technical drawings, BOQ, BOM, and project design documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with electrical standards, safety regulations, DISCOM requirements, and grid connectivity norms.
• Coordinate with project execution, procurement, and business development teams for feasibility and cost optimization.
• Support tender preparation with design drawings and specifications.
• Review site survey reports and project requirements before finalizing designs.
• Assist installation teams with clarifications and design revisions during deployment.
• Review vendor drawings and equipment datasheets.
• Maintain documentation of design revisions and project deliverables.

Role & responsibilities

1. Prepare detailed solar PV system designs for rooftop and ground-mounted solar projects.
2. Develop solar plant layouts, module placement plans, shadow analysis, and equipment positioning.
3. Prepare electrical drawings, including Single Line Diagrams (SLD), AC/DC layouts, cable routing, earthing, and lightning protection.
4. Perform solar PV system sizing, string sizing, inverter selection, cable sizing, and electrical load calculations.
5. Use AutoCAD, PVsyst, HelioScope, SketchUp, and other relevant software for design and simulation.
6. Conduct energy generation assessments, solar irradiation analysis, and performance simulations to estimate plant output.
7. Prepare technical drawings, BOQ (Bill of Quantities), BOM (Bill of Materials), and project design documentation.
8. Ensure designs comply with applicable electrical standards, safety regulations, DISCOM requirements, and grid connectivity norms.
9. Coordinate with project execution, engineering, procurement, and business development teams to ensure design feasibility and cost optimization.
10. Support tender preparation by providing technical specifications, design drawings, system sizing, and other required documents.
11. Review site survey reports, site dimensions, and project requirements before finalizing designs.
12. Assist project execution teams with technical clarifications, drawing revisions, and design-related issues during installation and commissioning.
13. Review and validate vendor drawings, technical datasheets, and equipment specifications.
14. Maintain proper documentation of design revisions, approved drawings, calculations, and project deliverables.

Preferred candidate profile

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience: 3 - 7 years of relevant experience in solar PV system design.
• Industry Experience: Candidates from solar EPC companies, renewable energy companies, or solar project design consultancies will be preferred.
• Technical Skills: Hands-on experience in AutoCAD, PVsyst, HelioScope, solar plant layout, SLD preparation, module and inverter sizing, and AC/DC cable sizing.
• Project Exposure: Experience in rooftop and ground-mounted solar projects, including MW-scale projects, will be an advantage.
• Documentation: Knowledge of BOQ/BOM preparation, technical specifications, tender drawings, and energy generation estimation.
• Coordination Skills: Ability to coordinate with project execution, procurement, and business development teams.
• Preferred Candidates: Candidates with end-to-end solar design experience, knowledge of applicable electrical standards, and the ability to deliver accurate designs within project timelines.
