Job summary

Ledvore in Coimbatore seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to produce electrical designs and schematics for automated machinery and special purpose machines. You will work from templates, sizing, safety architecture, and will make autonomous design decisions.

The role requires 8+ years in electrical design, strong EPLAN Electric P8 skills, and excellent English communication for daily calls with European engineers. You’ll join a team delivering European-standard designs from India.

Two hard requirements for this role.

EPLAN Electric P8 experience from day one. This is not negotiable — you’ll be working to a European client’s established EPLAN standards, templates and numbering systems from your first week.

Strong spoken English. You’ll be on calls with Irish and European engineers daily, raising technical queries and making design decisions in conversation with them. We need someone who has already worked in an English-speaking environment.

The role

We’re hiring a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to produce electrical designs and schematics for automated machinery and special purpose machine.

You’ll be given their templates, numbering systems and BOMs. What we need from you is the ability to take a project and design it properly sizing, safety architecture, best wiring practice and work autonomously, making informed decisions rather than waiting to be told.

What you’ll own

• Working from BOM lists to import and generate component symbols in EPLAN
• Complete electrical schematic sets to the client’s standards and numbering system
• 2D panel layouts of electrical enclosures
• Current capacity sizing and cable sizing to load
• Safety circuit design to IEC/EN 60204-1
• Motor control, VSDs, servo motors and controllers
• Integration of automated machinery and conveyor systems, mains and 24V DC
• Device tagging structures, structured pages, macro creation and management
• Forms, reports, cable reports and revision management

What we need

• EPLAN Electric P8 — strong, current, hands-on. Device tagging, structured pages, macro creation and management, forms and reports, PLC I/O schemes, cable reports, revision management, EPLAN Data Portal
• 8+ years in electrical design for automated machinery, special purpose machines or industrial control systems
• Demonstrable design capability, not just drafting — you size cables, you design safety circuits, you make the call on wiring practice
• PLC platform experience: Siemens, Allen Bradley or Beckhoff
• Excellent spoken and written English, with proven experience working in an English-speaking environment
• Genuinely self-directed. You’ll have a senior lead to work with, but you’re expected to make informed decisions
• B.E. / B.Tech / in Electrical or Electronics Engineering

Nice to have

• Robot integration — ABB or Fanuc
• Industrial comms protocols: EtherNet/IP, Profinet, EtherCAT
• Pneumatic circuits
• Experience with European clients or to European standards
