Job summary

Voltech HR Services (VHRS) is seeking an experienced 33kV Line Development Manager to oversee end-to-end planning, survey, civil foundations, pole erection, cable laying, and commissioning of 33kV collector networks.

The role requires coordinating with wind/solar project teams, EPCs, and DISCOMs, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance while managing on-site construction and vendor activities.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of direct experience in 11kV/33kV distribution or collector line execution.
• Experience with Renewable Energy IPPs, EPC Contractors, or State DISCOM projects.

Role & responsibilities

1.Engineer 33kV Line Execution & Development

Job Purpose

The 33kV Line Development Manager is responsible for end-to-end planning, survey, civil foundations, pole/tower erection, cable laying, and commissioning of internal 33kV collector networks. This role bridges the gap between individual power generation sources (wind turbines, solar blocks, or local generation units) and the main Pooling Substation (PSS).

Key Responsibilities

1. Route Planning & Micro-Siting

• Conduct total-station and GPS walkover surveys to finalize 33kV line alignments (both Overhead Lines and Underground XLPE Cabling).
• Optimize span lengths, pole placements, and cable routes to minimize material costs and Right-of-Way (RoW) conflicts.
• Decide on structural configurations (e.g., PSCC poles, spun poles, lattice towers, or DP structures) based on local soil and terrain.

2. Site Execution & Construction Management

• Manage on-site civil works: excavation, foundation concreting, pole erection, and hardware fitting.
• Oversee conductor payout, sagging, and tensioning for overhead lines, as well as trenching, jointing, and backfilling for underground XLPE cables.
• Supervise the installation and integration of Ring Main Units (RMUs), line isolators, and pole-mounted transformers.

3. Right-of-Way (RoW) & Local Community Management

• Lead ground-level negotiations with landowners and local authorities for pole footprint access and line corridor clearances.
• Resolve crop, tree, and land compensation disputes efficiently to prevent project work stoppages.

4. Statutory Approvals & Safety

• Secure necessary crossing permissions (Highways, Railways, Forest, and existing DISCOM utility lines).
• Prepare documentation and coordinate site inspections for CEIG / Electrical Inspectorate approval prior to line charging.
• Enforce strict HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards for working at height, excavation, and electrical isolation.

5. Vendor & Quality Control

• Supervise sub-contractors and turnkey vendors to ensure work aligns with drawing specifications and quality standards.
• Conduct pre-commissioning tests (insulation resistance, loop impedance, cable hi-pot testing) before handing over for energization.

Qualification & Experience Requirements

• B.E. / B. Tech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 3 to 5 years of direct experience in 11kV/33kV distribution or collector line execution.
• Renewable Energy IPPs (Solar/Wind), EPC Contractors, or State DISCOM projects.
