Job summary

Nestlé is seeking an experienced Electrical & Automation professional to lead and develop the team responsible for electrical & automation systems across plant operations. Responsibilities

Define, propose, and monitor the plans and objectives of the electrical team in accordance with the policy and standards.
Propose and implement work processes, procedures and technical resources for electrical & automation team.
Lead and coordinate the electrical & automation team and maintain competencies and performance.
Propose and control the electrical & automation component of capital projects.
Ensure workplace safety and communicate Safety, Health and Environment to all team members.
Ensure personnel performing electrical & automation activities are trained and certified.
Maintain technical integrity of electrical energy supply and distribution.
Ensure safe installations and operations through design, protection, procedures, and training.
Liaise with site Safety Officer on plant safety and compliance matters.
Coordinate with Production, Quality Management and Engineering to resolve issues.
Supervise and coordinate electricians, automation technicians and contractors.
Manage electrical & automation documents through filing and archiving.
Execute maintenance per Nestlé Maintenance Strategy to preserve/ improve assets.

Develop and implement maintenance and inspection plans for reliability and security.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

1. Management responsibilities

Define, propose, and monitor the plans and objectives of the electrical team in accordance with the Engineering Policy, Key Principles, and the Electricity & Automation Standards.

Propose and implement work processes, procedures and technical resources relating to the electrical & automation team.

Lead and coordinate the electrical & automation team and maintain competencies, motivation, and performance to achieve the teams mission and objectives.

Propose and control the electrical & automation component of the site in capital projects.

Ensure workplace safety and effective communication of Safety, Health and Environment to all team members.

2. Functional responsibilities

Ensure that all personnel performing electrical & automation related activities during Projects are legally trained and certified. Question the impact on product safety/quality, people safety and environmental during execution of any activity.

Always ensure the technical integrity/performance of the electrical energy supply and distribution.

Always ensure safe installations and operations through proper design, protection systems, procedures, and training.

Liase with the site Safety Officer on matters relating to plant safety, electricity distribution, energy conservation, legal compliance, complaints etc.

Coordinate with Production, Quality Management and Engineering to resolve any electrical & automation issues.

Supervise and coordinate electrical & automation during project work by electricians, automation technicians and contractors.

Ensure proper management of electrical & automation documents (manuals, diagrams, instrument data sheet, software packages/licenses) through efficient filing and archiving procedures.

1. Maintenance and Improvement of electrical & automation assets including project assets:

Execute the maintenance of the electrical & automation equipment in accordance with the Nestl Maintenance Strategy to proactively maintain/improve the fixed assets and use Asset and Maintenance Management (AMM) as the process to manage the asset lifecycle during projects & thereafter.

In projects, adopt the Maintenance Excellence vision by striving for the M&I "Proactive Domain" with use of latest technologies/ connected factory setup.

Develop and implement maintenance and inspection plans to ensure reliability, sustainability, and security of electrical distribution infrastructure.

Ensure technical integrity and performance of automation equipment.

2. Installation of new electrical & automation assets

Ensure that the justification, request for approval and reporting are in line with the Guidelines for Capital Investment.

Ensure that new installations are designed with a high degree of flexibility to better enable the operations to adjust to a changing environment keeping in mind safety and the issues relating to the environment.

Facilitate the introduction and implementation of new technologies in coordination with local, market, central technical and PTC engineering.

5. Continuous Improvement

Initiate and drive Continuous Improvement (CI) in electricity supply and distribution with the aim of achieving optimized plant performance & project deliverables.

Ensure that all members of the team play an active role in assisting the client in improving the energy usage and reducing waste across the site through continual improvement initiatives in project design & execution.

6. Product and Process Mastership:

Plays a key role in the continuous improvement of our factories through mastering the process and product characteristics. The MES-E&A engineer must have a deep insight of the processes, and continuously strive for the improvement of quality, safety or efficiency while protecting the technological know-how and competitive advantage.

Preferred candidate profile

Technical / Functional

In-depth knowledge of Electricity, in low voltage, medium voltage and high voltage installations.
In-depth knowledge of EMC (Electromagnetic compatibility).
Good knowledge of local electrical code and standards.
Knowledge of Calibration, Instrumentation and Process Control Systems PLC/ SCADA/HMI.
Process IT knowledge including understanding of FAS infrastructure
Knowledge of connected worker concepts
Knowledge of food safety, regulatory requirements for food safety, hygienic engineering, and Nestl Quality System.
Analytical skills in Problem Solving.
