Job summary

Nestlé India in Punjab invites an experienced Project Engineer to support investment projects from charter through start-up. You will help design and manage plant facilities, ensure safety, quality, and TPM, and coordinate contractors to meet time, cost and scope targets.

Responsibilities

• Support the End to End Project Manager in developing the investment project charter and ensure follow-through.

• Coordinate construction activities and ensure safety during both construction and operation.
• Assist start-up and documentation, including the final project report and feedback to maintenance systems.

Role & responsibilities

Key Outputs: List the main results which the job must deliver in order to achieve its purpose Before starting the project design phase:
Support the End to End Project Manager and Project Engineering Manager in developing the investment project charter and ensure that it is strictly followed throughout the project. During project design phase:
Execute the basic and detailed design of the project based on Nestl Corporate Business Principles, Nestl standards, local regulations, the defined User Requirements Specifications and the TPM characteristics of a unit operation (safety, quality, affordability, maintainability, operability and reliability). Ensure by design the workers, and operators, safety during both the construction and the ongoing operation of the plant. During the project implementation phase:
Ensure that the engineering side of the project is implemented (e.g. buildings, equipment erections, piping, utilities, etc.) in accordance with the defined timing, cost and quality, the URS and the characteristics of a unit operation. And that all of the elements of the project (including technical people training, as needed) in performed in such a way that safety is always guaranteed on the whole project site and that a vertical start-up is assured. Select and qualify contractors and coordinate their activities. Ensure that Nestl standards are applied. During the start-up phase of the project:
Support the start-up manager and their team to ensure a smooth transition to operations after the qualification and verification of the installation.
Contribute to and support the preparation and distributing the engineering project documentation, including the engineering part of the project final report and provide feedback to the Maintenance Prevention System.

Preferred candidate profile

• Manufacturing projects management- 3 years experience in capital investment projects development and implementation in food industry.
• Determination of methods to minimise the likelihood of injuries or damages to people and/or equipment (SH&E)
• Factory operations (as required)

Core knowledge of the 10 Nestl Corporate Business Principles and expert knowledge in our areas of responsibility. (mandatory)

• Project management accreditation: Technical Instructions & Guidelines Management System ; Sound understanding of contracts, construction law and permitting requirements; certification] Engineering and Manufacturing: Nestl Engineering activities, including Toolkit (NEMT, NSAT, etc); Project Engineering; Plant Design and Construction, and CAPEX cycle (budget preparation and project justification in CIAT, AMM PS); Understanding of Electricity, Control and Automation. Including MES; Nestl proprietary technology; Maintenance and Projects Management and Planning, including TPM, AMM (decision support and reporting tools), MS Project; Innovation & Renovation process
• Nestl Leadership Principles and Group organization: Nestl Management & Leadership Principles, Nestl on the Move, Nestl Leadership Framework and Nestle Corporate Business Principles
• Degree/Diploma in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, E&A, Process, Industrial engineering, or similar)
• Nestl product and process technologies - with PTC & Factories experience
• Financial and budget analysis and tracking: Knowledge of Costing Guidelines and Finance & Accounting principles
• Food plant principles and hygienic engineering: Food processing plants and technologies (Maintenance and Utilities), food safety, hygienic engineering
