Weir Minerals (India) Private Limited in Bangalore is seeking an Elastomer Technician to operate on a rotating three-shift schedule, performing elastomer lining and hose-building processes on the shop floor.

The role requires hands-on experience with elastomer materials, lining techniques, and the ability to read technical drawings, while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.

• Deliver high-quality elastomer linings, maintain production schedules, and adapt to rotating shifts.
• Role is primarily shop floor based in Bangalore with minimal travel.

What you'll do

• Production Operations: Perform elastomer lining and hose building processes including vulcanised neoprene, natural rubber, cold bonded Linatex lining, and autoclave operations on the shop floor.
• Daily Responsibilities: Prepare and inspect surfaces for elastomer application, operate and maintain equipment such as manual rollers, stitchers, and bladders, and follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
• Success Metrics: Deliver high-quality elastomer linings consistently, maintain production schedules efficiently, and adapt quickly to rotating shift patterns while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Travel Requirements: Minimal to no travel; role is primarily shop floor based in Bangalore.

What you'll bring

Must-haves

• Diploma or ITI in Mechanical, Fitter, or relevant trade with 1-3 years of hands-on experience in elastomer lining, rubber, hose, or similar industrial manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of elastomer materials, lining techniques, and ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Familiarity with industrial safety standards and commitment to safety protocols.
• Ability to work effectively in a rotating three-shift schedule and adapt to a dynamic production environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience specifically in hose building, hose preparation, and finishing processes.
• Exposure to autoclave operations and rubber manufacturing equipment maintenance.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives.
• Flexibility in trade background with relevant manufacturing exposure.
